Our second time at Victory Cottage and I’m sure we will return. Weather wasn’t in our side, but the cottage is very cosy and in a great location within Rutland. If I had one negative…….it would be that there is no coffee pod machine. But that’s me being picky 😜

We stayed in January and got the weather you might expect for that time of year. Luckily Victory Cottage was very cosy with underfloor heating on the ground floor. Kitchen was well equipped and big enough for a table to seat four to five people. Downstairs sitting room was a good size and all rooms, bar the downstairs toilet! and upstairs en-suite and bathroom, had streaming connected TVs. Good broadband/WiFi strength throughout. Nice to have a welcome pack with Prosecco, cookies, milk, tea and coffee on our arrival. Interaction with managing company was very positive and helpful. Local pub, 5 mins walk away, is friendly and accommodating. Ate a Saturday dinner at the Sun Inn and the food was excellent with a very reasonable mark up on some good wines. There is a convenience store virtually next door and an excellent bakery/cafe called Hambletons about 5-10 minutes drive away. Oakham is a lovely little town with an amazing Norman Hall and a thriving market on Wednesday and Saturday.
