Snaptrip says

Manor View is a quaint and cosy cottage appreciated for its quiet rural setting and well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoy the property's charm, powerful shower, and secure gardens. While some find the beds comfortable, others note the need for TLC, particularly with the sofas and plumbing. The location is praised for its proximity to local attractions and dog-friendly areas, despite occasional parking challenges.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with specific praise for its well-maintained state. However, a few guests noted issues with kitchen equipment cleanliness and a smell from the bathroom, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is frequently described as peaceful and ideal for sightseeing, with easy access to Rutland Water and local amenities. Parking can be tricky during school times, but the tranquil setting and proximity to attractions balance this out.

Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds in the main bedroom comfortable. However, there are several comments about the sofas and additional beds being less comfortable, and issues with temperature regulation.

Facilities like the kitchen and shower are well-received, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as plumbing and TV reception. The presence of a secure garden and local information are positives.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the management towards the guests, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We visited for 7 nights with our two boys (4 and 5) and little dog, and it was perfect for us. It’s clearly an incredibly old house so it’s characterful and creaky, but with good double glazing, excellent heating, WiFi, a really lovely bathroom and good kitchen, so it felt warm and was easy to live in. I think the gardens / setting is nicer than the photos and it felt very private and secluded, and the views are really lovely. You can’t park outside, but we found it very easy to park round the corner either end of the little road, then wander down the alley but could be tricky for someone with mobility needs. We had a lot of kit with us so did journey back and forth quite a bit but absolutely fine for us. Our boys absolutely loved the little nook in the living room with a few toys and some books, and the TV had options for signing into Netflix etc. The only thing for us was that the leather sofas weren’t incredibly comfortable and looked and felt a little tired, and I would probably refresh a few of the kitchen items and upstairs furnishings, but everything was really clean, with nice soft blankets and towels and cosy (very bouncy!) beds. For us the cottage was particularly excellent value for money for its location, just 5 mins drive to Rutland Water. It’s about 15 mins to the nearest supermarkets in Oakham or Stamford but the little village shop a couple of mins away in Edith Western was perfect for grabbing anything we needed with exceptionally friendly staff! The village pub was also a delight with a good mix of people, good food and service, and very child and dog friendly. We’ve already recommended the cottage to friends with kids and we definitely want to stay again next year!

It was a pleasure to stay in and we would love to return to it in the future. We were very pleased with the facilities and how comfortable the beds were. The gardens were well maintained and perfect for our dogs. It was quiet and our children enjoyed staying there too. I think my only advice would be to ensure it is clearly written in the email leaving up to your stay that dogs aren't allowed on beds and to bring your own covers if you'd like them on the sofa. Just to ensure people prepare for that properly. We had no problems though. It was lovely, thank you.
