Kings Retreat is a cosy and comfortable cottage in Oakham, praised for its good location and warm atmosphere. Guests appreciate the proximity to shops, cafes, and outdoor activities at Rutland Water. The property offers a pleasant stay with essential facilities and is considered good value for money.
The property generally maintains a good level of cleanliness, though some guests noted minor issues such as a damp smell in the bathroom, dishes left in the dishwasher, and a dirty mop and bucket. These appear to be isolated incidents rather than a consistent problem.
The location is highly regarded, with easy access to local amenities in Oakham, nearby Rutland Water, and a short drive to Stamford. Road parking is adequate despite the narrow street.
Guests find the accommodation cosy and comfortable, with comfy beds and a warm house. The presence of a communal walkway was noted, but it did not detract from the overall comfort.
The property is equipped with good facilities and plenty of gadgets. However, some maintenance issues like a leaking bucket and the absence of a dustpan brush were mentioned. No information file or instructions for appliances were found, which suggests room for improvement.
There is no mention of gifts or welcome packs in the reviews, except for one comment about the lack of a welcome pack and basic provisions. As such, it is not possible to score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

We enjoyed a relaxing few days at Kings retreat. It had everything we needed, accommodation was clean and location was good. We visited Stamford and Rutland Waters during our stay. Excellent value for money.

Nice place. Close to town so easy walk. Good facilities and plenty of gadgets. Comfy beds. There’s a damp smell in the bathroom. Due to this we had to leave 2 days early as my wife has severe asthma and it was triggering it. Could’ve been left cleaner. Dishes were still in dishwasher. Onion bits left in sink. Carpet needed a hoover.

Only 20 minute drive from the historic town of Stamford.plenty of hot water and house lovely and warm.
