Guests say

Bakers Retreat is a charming, spacious cottage in a peaceful and picturesque village, ideal for a relaxing countryside escape. Guests praise its well-equipped kitchen, cosy wood burner, and comfortable living spaces. The location is perfect for exploring nearby towns and countryside walks. While the cottage is generally clean and inviting, a few guests noted minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance. The lack of amenities within walking distance and the closure of the village pub are mentioned, but nearby attractions and eateries are easily accessible by car.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with high-quality bedding and towels. However, a few reviews mention cobwebs, dust, and occasional stains on bedding, suggesting that cleaning could be more thorough between stays.

The cottage is set in a tranquil, beautiful village with easy access to Rutland Water, Oakham, and Stamford. Guests appreciated the peaceful setting and lovely countryside walks, though some noted the lack of amenities within walking distance.

Guests consistently described the cottage as comfortable, warm, and spacious, with cosy beds and a welcoming atmosphere. Some minor comments about squeaky beds and soft mattresses were made, but overall comfort was highly rated.

The cottage is well equipped with kitchen appliances, a wood burner, and all essentials for a relaxing stay. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues in the kitchen and bathrooms, and suggested improvements like brighter lighting and an EV charging point.

While the cottage is generally well prepared for guests, some were disappointed by the absence of a welcome gift such as milk on arrival. Please note that gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed.
