About this property

Wishbone Barn is a characterful Lincolnshire retreat that brings together heritage architecture and considered modern comfort. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, this thoughtfully restored red brick and timber-clad barn offers sociable open-plan living framed by vaulted ceilings and original oak beams.

At its heart, the spacious kitchen and dining area invite long, leisurely meals, whether it’s a celebratory supper around the generous teak table or a relaxed brunch with friends. The living space balances style and comfort, with deep linen sofas and underfloor heating throughout creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere year-round. A rare and fascinating display of genuine mammoth bones, uncovered during renovation, adds a distinctive talking point to your stay.

Outside, the terrace opens onto far-reaching countryside views, with ample space for outdoor dining and evenings gathered around the fire pit. The wood-fired hot tub is a highlight, perfect for soaking beneath open skies after a day exploring the surrounding landscape.

Dog friendly and well-equipped for families or groups of friends, Wishbone Barn offers a relaxed rural escape with thoughtful design details and plenty of space to reconnect, celebrate and slow the pace.

Wishbone Barn is set on a working farm along the Lincolnshire–Nottinghamshire border, surrounded by open countryside and wide views across fields and meadowland. The setting offers plenty of space and privacy, making it ideal for guests looking to switch off and spend time outdoors.

The nearby town of Newark-on-Trent is just a short drive away, with supermarkets, independent shops, cafés and riverside walks. Newark Castle and its gardens are worth a visit, and there are regular markets throughout the week.

Lincoln is also within easy reach, known for its cathedral, historic streets and good selection of restaurants. The area is well suited to walking and cycling, with quiet country lanes and rural footpaths to explore.

Despite its countryside setting, the Granary benefits from good road links and direct rail connections from Newark to London and other major cities.
