Guests say

Stone Cottage receives high praise for its spotless cleanliness, peaceful garden with countryside views, and well-equipped, cosy interior. Guests appreciate the relaxing atmosphere, helpful hosts, and convenient location for exploring the Peak District. While the kitchen and driveway could be improved for accessibility, and a lighter duvet or extra kitchen items would be welcome, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests keen to return.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spotlessly clean and well presented, with only a minor mention of dust under the bed. Cleanliness is a standout feature.

The property is praised for its beautiful rural views and proximity to walks and attractions. Some mention the road at the front can be busy, but the peaceful garden and easy access to the Peak District are highly valued.

The cottage is described as cosy, comfortable, and homely, with a restful atmosphere. A few guests noted the duvet was heavy for summer, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The cottage is well equipped with essentials, including a large fridge freezer and washing machine. Some guests suggested minor additions to the kitchen and noted the lack of a dishwasher, but these did not detract from their stay.

Guests appreciated the welcome pack and helpful communication from the hosts. Please note that gifts such as welcome packs are not guaranteed for every stay.

Stone Cottage was a great base for our short break. It has a lovely back garden with comfy chairs to sit and admire the view. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and has a large fridge freezer. No dishwasher but as there were only 2 of us, it didn’t take long to wash up as we went. We didn’t make use of the washing machine but great that there is one. We’d made a long list of places to visit all within a 40 min drive (Haddon Hall, Renishaw Hall, Bakewell, Matlock, Heights of Abraham, Heage Mill, various waterfalls) but due to a car accident our holiday was sadly cut short. We’d definitely like to return to stay at Stone Cottage to visit them all.
