Close to Bolsover Castle and the historic town of Chesterfield, with its famous twisted church spire, this cottage is ideally placed for exploring the surrounding area. If you fancy heading out a little further afield, the renowned walking area of the Peak District National Park is within a short drive, whilst the famous Sherwood Forest is just 12 miles away. Being semi-rural there are local bus services, but these are limited and not always reliable, so your own private transport is recommended to visit the numerous places of interest around the area. National Trust and English Heritage properties are available locally and within a fairly short drive. Shops, pubs, takeaways, and restaurants are available in Clowne village about 1 mile away, as there are no such facilities in Stanfree Village itself. There is also a public sports centre and swimming pool in Clowne for those who are feeling energetic.
