Electric car charging point, £15 per charge (by prior arrangement with the owner). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. A beautiful stone-built, detached cottage, renovated in 2020, with far-reaching countryside views, Barn View offers modern facilities along with original exposed beams. The ground floor consists of a living/dining room with stone-built fireplace, along with a separate well-equipped kitchen. On the first floor you will find two well-appointed bedrooms as well as a family bathroom complete with a spa bath. The cottage is situated on the owner’s working farm with cattle, ducks, geese, chickens, and horses, and is an ideal holiday location (stabling available).
A plethora of walks can be taken from the doorstep and coarse fishing can be found ½ mile away. Chatsworth House, Bolsover Castle, Hardwick Hall and the Heights of Abraham are just a selection of the many attractions within a 10-mile drive of the cottage. Bakewell is the ancient capital of the Peak District, and is just under a half an hour drive away, famous for its puddings. Shop 4 miles, pub 3 miles, restaurant 5 miles.

We had a really wonderful weekend at Barn view. We had with us our dog who loved the park that’s a very short walk along the lane. In the other direction along the lane was a beautiful little farm shop / cafe. We bought lunch and a couple of ciders which were lovely. The cottage we found to be so cosy and it really did have everything you could need. The bed was comfortable and the bedrooms warm. The living room / dining room was very light and felt open but cosy at the same time ( you may to trust me on that one).The garden space was perfect for our dog, we didn’t get to use it as it was February and it snowed ( but max our dog liked it). We would love to return and will definitely book again.There are plenty on places to visit nearby too!

Barn view is a fantastic cottage, decorated and furnished to a very high standard whilst keeping a traditional converted barn look. Enclosed garden which was great for our dog. Very spacious living room, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms kitchen had everything you need.Location is excellent, central to Matlock and Bakewell
