If you can bear to tear yourself away, the Peak District National Park is only a short drive away. Visit the grand Chatsworth House with its gardens, adventure playground and farmyard, the town of Bakewell famous for its delicious Pudding, Buxton with its amazing Opera House or catch a ride on the steam train on the Peak Railway. 

Closer to home, take a bike ride around Carsington Water, explore the historic town of Wirksworth or visit Belper, one of the best-kept secrets in the Derwent Valley World Heritage Corridor. After a busy day exploring the area, make sure you stop for a pint or a bite to eat at the local Tiger pub on your way home.
