Top Stable is a delightful little cottage surrounded by open countryside on the edge of attractive Turnditch village. Its light and airy open plan lounge and dining area, spacious bedroom with king-size bed and mellow pine furniture, and the ultra modern kitchen and bathroom make it a fantastic holiday retreat.

You might just fancy a lazy day in and around the cottage or perhaps having a wander along one of the many local footpaths. But there are lots more active things to do close by. How about cycling around Carsington Water, riding the Ecclesbourne Valley heritage railway, having a nostalgic trip at the National Tramway Museum or exploring historic Wirksworth with its little shops, pubs, restaurants, heritage trail and Northern Lights cinema?

The local town of Ashbourne, known as the Gateway to the Peak District, is another must with its lovely market square, country stores, antique shops and restaurants. Belper in the Derwent Valley World Heritage Corridor is the best kept secret with shops, pubs, restaurants, Riverside Park and the Ritz cinema. All of Derbyshire's other attractions might also beckon including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, riverside Bakewell, Castleton's Caverns and the Derwent Valley Dams. A pint in the local Tiger pub is a good way to finish the day!

Cottage facilities:

A superb lounge and dining area with comfortable sofas, mellow pine table and chairs, T.V., DVD, WiFi and glowing log effect gas stove. An ultra modern kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and automatic washer. A spacious bedroom with feature king-size bed, mellow pine furniture and lovely views over the countryside. A classy bathroom with corner bath/shower over and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, fuel and power included. There is an enclosed cottage garden with furniture. Parking for one car is available. A small pet is welcome by arrangement. Smoking in the cottage is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available November to March except Christmas and New Year. Bookings for Christmas and New Year are from Tuesday to Tuesday.
