For days out, try a visit to Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham, 4 miles away, or the stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon House, both only 8 miles away. A little further afield is the spa town of Buxton in the centre of the Peak District National Park, where activities abound, including walking, cycling, climbing and angling.
