The Old Haybarn receives glowing praise for its immaculate cleanliness, modern and comfortable interiors, and peaceful rural setting. Guests consistently highlight the well-equipped kitchen, luxurious hot tub, and friendly, helpful hosts. The property is ideal for families, with children enjoying the farm animals and play area. While the Wi-Fi can be unreliable and some guests noted minor issues such as hot bedroom temperatures and small towels, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.
Cleanliness is repeatedly described as exceptional, with numerous guests calling the property spotless, immaculate, and very well maintained. Only one minor mention of a chilly downstairs area, but no negative comments regarding cleanliness itself.
The rural location is praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to the Peak District and local attractions. Some guests note that amenities require a short drive, but this is generally not seen as a drawback.
Guests find the cottage cosy, spacious, and comfortable, with special mention of quality mattresses and a homely atmosphere. A few mention hot bedrooms during summer, suggesting fans could be helpful, but overall comfort is rated very highly.
Facilities are highly rated, with guests appreciating the well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, private parking, and secure access. The presence of two bathrooms, laundry facilities, and thoughtful extras like hot tub towels are noted. Minor suggestions include larger towels and more local information due to patchy Wi-Fi.
Hosts are frequently described as friendly, welcoming, and helpful, often providing farm tours and responding promptly to queries. Some guests mention extra touches such as eggs and farm experiences, but please note that such gifts or experiences are not guaranteed.

we got this cottage on a deal sometime last year, there was 6 of us which cameto £90 each. we went to celebrate a friends birthday and was a lovely stay. we were really pleased with our stay, a hot tub, a nice view and even cockerels that came to say hi at the door! the cottage was clean and secure and the bedrooms were cosy and felt very safe. the owner gave us an unprompted tour around the farm to see the pigs and the donkeys etc which was a nice touch.one thing i would request a change for would be the £1 for an extra toilet roll if you ran out. i feel like these are a necessity and shouldn’t need to pay an extra £1 per toilet roll- we went to the shop and ended up buying a pack of our own. the hot tub was always heated and a fully equipped kitchen. there was even a hoover, brush, an iron and board and other amenities. there is a walk not far away, at a place called markeaton park and a shopping retail park close by. overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return! :)

A well equipped and clean cottage. Especially the kitchen. Found the downstairs a little chilly compared to the hot temperatures upstairs, the underfloor heating upstairs was very hot. Lots of towels and the hairdryers were of a high quality. Location was central for all the activities we visited and the pub and shops not too far away.
