Stenson Hill Farm is a spacious and welcoming holiday home, ideal for large gatherings. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, games room, and outdoor tennis court. The property's generous garden and the homemade samosas on arrival are frequently mentioned highlights. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall experience is one of enjoyment and relaxation, making it a popular choice for family and friend reunions.
The property generally maintains a good standard of cleanliness, though some guests mentioned the need for a deep clean in certain en-suites and the presence of pet hair. The new bathroom received praise, indicating variability in cleanliness across the property.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and scenic walks, with easy access to Derby. However, some guests noted road noise and nearby activities that could be disruptive, suggesting a balance of convenience and occasional disturbance.
Comfort is highly rated, with guests enjoying the spacious garden, flexible bedroom arrangements, and the presence of multiple bathrooms. The property caters well to large groups, though some guests mentioned the beds may not be true king-sized and the water pressure in showers could be improved.
Facilities like the games room and tennis court are highlights, but guests have noted that some areas, such as the decor and en-suites, require updating. The dishwasher's effectiveness and kitchen organisation were also points of contention for some.
The owner's thoughtfulness is evident in the warm greetings and the provision of homemade samosas, which were well-received. However, it should be noted that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed with every stay.

Great holiday home for a large group. Kitchen had all the equipment we needed. Directions were great, instructions on arrival clear. Games room and tennis court great, as was garden. There was some discussion whether beds advertised as king-size really were king-sized. They seemed more like doubles. Water pressure was low on all showers. Road, rail and air traffic were very loud at night. We had windows open as it was hot. We'd book again without hesitation though.

This property is ideal for large families or groups of friends. It's within walking distance of local amenities like pubs and supermarkets, yet far enough away to avoid disturbing anyone if you're noisy. For our multi-generational family break, the teenagers enjoyed the pool table and spacious garden, while the adults appreciated the snooker table and the ability to find a quiet spot even in a bustling house. The fantastic weather allowed us to make use of the BBQ and tennis courts, and our four-legged friends loved the numerous scenic walks nearby. A stroll along the canal path is highly recommended, and Derby is just a short trip from Stenson Fields, with buses running every 20 minutes, which is super convenient. The whole family had a wonderfully relaxed and enjoyable holiday.

Stenson Hill Farm was a great choice for our extended family get together. Enough Bathrooms for each sub family group and the lounge was perfect for our evening games sessions. We were a group of 19 with age range 6 to 76. The games room with snooker and pool tables was well used but most important was the wonderful large garden for our outdoor games of rounders, tug of war and sports day. We were blessed with fabulous weather for April. Thank you Mr.Atwal for your warm greeting and a wonderful large plate of samosa`s which went down a treat. There is a certain amount of road noise outside plus some rather pungent burning going on in the units further down the lane but this didn`t interfere with our enjoyment. Over all a great holiday let. We booked through Cottages.com who were not the most helpful to say the least and as we will certainly gather at Stenson Hill Farm again we will probably use other means of booking. This in no way reflects on the owner who has been most helpful.
