The lodge comfortably sleeps four adults with a double bedroom which will leave you saying wow as you walk through the walk in wardrobe, then into the feature bathroom with its inviting slipper foot bath. The second bedroom offers guests two single beds but does not scrimp on area or design and also offers a walk-in wardrobe and separate shower room.
Step outside to a fantastic veranda to enjoy your morning coffee whilst watching the birds and wildlife pass you by. Nestled in the award-winning largest inland marina in Europe, this really is the perfect base to explore all that the local area has to offer. Why not take advantage of the Boardwalk, a promenade of six boutique retailers, centred around a fabulous two storey bar and restaurant. From here you front onto a raised wooden walkway offering terrific views of the water, boats, and wildlife. You will also discover a sensory garden at the end of the Boardwalk to sit and relax and watch the world go by. Close by Findern is a lovely village situated about six miles west of Derby.
The village green is overlooked by All Saints Parish Church where a carved semi-circular stone or ’tympanum’ discovered when the previous Norman Church was demolished in 1862, is preserved. There are lovely walks in the area and it is a great base to explore the Peak District with its market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne, as well as its many pretty villages.

Excellent visit, very clean and well equipped lodge. There was a water outage for some hours during our visit, but we had a call from the managing agents, plus text from the owner, advising us of the situation, which was entirely outside their control. Not a problem. The only minor comment we would have, is to have more affective curtains in the main bedroom, to make them better at blocking out the early morning sun.Apart from that, excellent. Thanks for the complimentary wine and chocs.
