The Queen Elizabeth Suite is set in the heart of Stanhope, County Durham AONB in a historic former public house dating back to the 19th century. This executive second-floor ‘penthouse’ apartment offers stunning 180 degree panoramic views of the dale and is the perfect living space for larger families. The highlight of this apartment is the opulent blackout cinema lounge and fabulous cocktail corner, complete with a mini bar fridge and bar stools. Choose from a twin bedroom or two king size bedrooms with 70 inch imperial headboards or the Queen’s Quarters penthouse bedroom with a crown shaped bed and views fit for a Queen! Note: This cottage can be booked with Refs. 920792 and 920793, together they sleep 20. Note: This property has a good housekeeping bond of £200.
Stanhope is an ancient market town in the beautiful Wear Valley. The town is home to the Durham Dales Centre, offering tourist information, a coffee shop, local arts and crafts. In addition to this there is a selection of pubs, specialist food stores, art gallery, outdoor swimming pool and pleasant riverside walks.

It is not luxury and should not be advertised as so. Basic towels, basic kitchenware, to not even leave a dishwasher tablet, tea towel etc I don't feel is suitable. For a weeks stay. No welcome basket. It was nice but the cleanliness spoilt it for us, having to get it cleaned again and vacate the property on your holiday is not acceptable. A hoover, mop should be available which other people have commented also.

Really comfortable bedrooms and the cinema room- stunning!!!! Showers powerful and the bath is huge!!!! Loved the upstairs bar area with hidden Marshall speaker fridge and neon sign. Sofas were really comfortable too! Only and very minor gripes/ observations - upstairs shower is very slow to drain so be cautious, towels- on the small side lol itâs a luxury property- surely bath sheets rather than bath napkins as we called them? Kitchen - oddly the only place we have stayed where there are no âbits and bobsâ from other guests like foil, salt and pepper, clingfilm and no dishwasher tablets provided and only 1 tea towel. Microwave very loud and not sure if thatâs a potential future fault? Lastly the place is opulent and the dining table matches that but is far too big for the space. We had to plan the order of who was sitting where so the last person didnât have to try to pass anyone else already seated. Again none of those big issues but observations on things that could maybe be considered. Would we stay again- yes without a doubt!
