Lovely comfortable beds, had everything we needed for our stay. Great location for the area.

The cottage was immaculately presented, with high-spec furnishings and everything you'd need. Wonderful large kitchen (interesting learning to cook with an Aga!) and large terrace leading off. We recommend the slightly quirky French restaurant in the village (best to book) for an evening meal and Samuel James Deli for breakfast. We visited Barnard Castle (with its Farmers Market the first Saturday of the month) , the Faith Museum and Spanish Gallery at Bishop Auckland, plus a quick visit to Appleby. Didn't plan on doing too much so the cottage was the perfect place for restful days with a book in front of the woodburner. WiFi patchy (only strong for online meetings in the main bedroom). Overall, we'd definitely recommend staying here. A fabulous cottage in a great location. Such helpful owners, too, who sent us details of lots of places to go. We shall return.

Set up slightly so you get good views from the outdoor patio. Huge kitchen/diner, comfortable living room and three very good sized bedrooms. One has an en-suite shower room and there's a large family bathroom with separate shower cubicle too. Nice, private location. Plenty of parking in the grounds. Immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and will look to book again for next year.
