For water sport enthusiasts, The National Sailing Academy is nearby and offers diving and windsurfing facilities and at the top of the island is Portland Bill with its iconic red and white striped lighthouse. The view from here is simply stunning and the dramatic cliffs offer rock climbing pursuits as well as coastal walks for the less adventurous. Portland has a unique geology and position which makes it home to an extraordinarily rich variety of birds, animals and plant life to discover and Portland Museum houses a range of artefacts and information telling the story of Portland’s maritime history. Entering into the property, the cottage is well presented throughout and is a blend of character features and contemporary furnishings. The living/dining room is an open plan space allowing you to catch up on your favourite T shows or enjoy a meal together at the dinner table. The Sun Room is a gorgeous place for you to settle down with a good book or simply unwind after a busy day exploring the Jurassic Coast. The kitchen is well equipped for all you need to cook up a storm and the bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC is a tranquil space to freshen up in at the end of your day. The bright and airy bedroom has a double bed to guarantee a restful night’s sleep. Head outside into the garden and choose from ample seating areas; kick back in the hammock with a glass of wine or start your day off with your morning cup of tea or coffee at the bistro table. Weymouth is a 15-minute drive away and is a traditional seaside town with a lively atmosphere. There is a frequent bus service, with stops close to the property, travelling on and off of the island throughout the day. Weymouth’s award winning sandy beach is backed with an attractive Georgian esplanade which is lined with tourist shops, cafes and bars. However you decide to spend your holiday here in Dorset, Cove Cottage Hideaway is a wonderful base for a couples retreat at any time of the year.

Sitting amongst the beauty of the Jurassic Coast, on the scenic Isle of Portland in Dorset, sits Chiswell, a modest fishing village with a wonderful beach and a good host of amenities.
