    About this property

Beautiful Grade II listed early Victorian property located at the entrance to a Jacobean Manor house within a wonderful village of Warmwell which is a few miles from Dorchester, a busy county town in Dorset.
With stylish decorations throughout and antiques, designer fabrics blending to contemporary interior including well-equipped kitchen and modern bathroom, this cottage is a delightful holiday home for families or couples.
Get warm by a cosy log-burner and sit in the lounge in winter months or in summer you can enjoy eating in the garden with birds singing in the sunshine. The local horses are a nice relaxing view as they happily graze in the adjoining field.
Sympathetic colour scheme has been added throughout the interior of the bedrooms along with original features such as mullion windows, bread oven and beams.
The village of Warmwell has stunning countryside views and a few charming properties with character worth your attention. The village includes a delightful XIII century church, Manor House to access several footpaths criss-crossing the estate.
Locally you have a choice of options. The Wise Man at West Stafford, The New Inn in West Knighton, The Sailors Return in East Chaldon all serving delicious food.

If you wish to eat close to the sea, try The Smugglers Inn in Osmington Mills with a rocky beach close-by. You can take a walk to Ringstead beach along the coastal path too.
If you in athe area, why not to visit Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, one of the most popular sightseeing places in Dorset. You can’t find a better place to have a picnic or bask in the sun, or have a swim surrounded by all the beauty.
Visitors with children enjoy going to famous Monkey World, The Tank Museum and Farmer Palmer’s farm.
Warmwell Lodge has a stunning scenery around and is a comfortable holiday home for families with pretty garden and abundance of walks around.
The owners suggest four walks from Warmwell Lodge, an annotated map will wait for you once you will arrive at the property:
Walk 1 - The Loop - approx. half mile
Walk 2 - Lower Watercombe, approx. 2 miles
Walk 3 - The Watercress beds & Heath, approx. 3 miles
Walk 4 - The Beach. The walk to the beach is approx. 4 miles; it is spectacular and strenuous (approx. 1.5-2 hours).

Warmwell derives it’s name from a well of tepid water, and played a key part in world war II with RAF airfield used by the RAF If you want to continue on a theme of military history then why not explore the Tank Museum at Bovington just 8 miles away. Monkey World rescue is also an interesting day out and just around the corner from the Tank Museum. Should you be craving the sight and sounds of the sea then you are also ideally placed, with Lulworth Cove and Durdle just 8 miles away to the East and Weymouth and it’s golden sands and shallow water just 8 miles to the west. You will find many local café’s and restaurants in both these locations where you can sample local fish and award-winning produce. Be sure to enjoy an ice cream on the seafront.

    Mrs Harrold ‐ 1 Sep 2019
"A good informative folder provided with plenty of walks, tea shops and pubs to visit. All information was dog friendly which helped with our planning of trips out. The lovely enclosed garden meant our dog had a safe holiday too. Walks round the estate added to enjoyment of our stay. Would highly recommend as a central base for exploring Dorset coastal areas."
    Mrs Brimmer ‐ 1 Jul 2019
" A stunning little cottage surrounded by horses and a beautiful church opposite. It was exactly what we had hoped for and more, super comfy bedrooms, cosy sitting room, gorgeous garden that was completely enclosed so safe for our french bulldog to scamper about in and play football with our daughter. Lovely personal touches with a welcome note, tea and biscuits. We will definitely be back, thank you! "
    Mrs Bowden ‐ 1 Apr 2019
" We had a lovely stay with our four year old; having horses right outside and pheasants wandering the garden was amazing. The lodge itself is lovely and far roomier than we were expecting; a bathroom with a toilet and a separate downstairs toilet which makes life easier! Also didn’t realise there was a tumble dryer as well as a washing machine and hairdryers too! The welcome tray of Dorset tea and biscuits was very welcome and the information pack containing maps of walks around the estate was incredibly useful. Such a special holiday! "
    Mrs Travis ‐ 1 Apr 2019

"Cottage is well situated for exploring Dorset. The garden is pretty for sitting out in the morning, the sitting room with wood burner was cosy in the evenings. The owners were very welcoming and keen to ensure everything was perfect during our stay. Stayed September 2015"
    Mr David Miller
"The owners made us feel most welcome and made sure we had everything for our stay. The cottage is beautiful and tastefully furnished throughout with comfy beds and lovely duvets to snuggle into. It is well equipped and all sparkling clean. There are excellent places to eat within a few miles, a host of National Trust properties to visit and of course miles of coastline to explore. A most delightful stay! Stayed September 2015"
    Mrs Carol Ashdown

"One very minor point was the lack of cooking equipment, as people who enjoy to cook whilst on holiday, it was a struggle with the equipment supplied, although the housekeeper did bring us a stockpot when we mentioned the fact. It will not put us off returning though as we would just bring our own in future. (We normally bring knives & a multi-purpose pot anyway, but didn't this time as it was only a mini-break). Stayed New Year 2016"
    Mrs Helen Dean
"Warmwell Lodge is a beautiful little property renovated to a really high standard. It's cosy and comfortable with all amenities thought off. Great location for exploring the Dorset coast and countryside, you feel rural but not cut off. Lots of great pubs to try all only a short drive away and Dorchester was an easy 15 min drive. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend. Stayed April 2016"
    Mr David Wilson
