The Gannets is situated on a private road in a beautiful rural location in Osmington Mills. Within walking distance to scenic coastal walks and a short drive to Weymouth.

The village of Osmington is set five miles east of Weymouth and eight miles South East of Dorchester in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Osmington Mills is home to the start of The South Dorset Ridgeway. This follows an inland course through Osmington Village, climbing onto the Ridgeway above the famous White Horse. The White Horse is high on the hill overlooking Weymouth Bay and is a carving of King George III riding his favourite charger, Adonis. The figure was carved out of the hillside in 1808 in honour of the King Georges many visits.
Weymouth is within easy reach and boasts a bustling town full of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. This area is popular with water sports enthusiasts and played host to a number of major sailing events in the 2012 Olympics.

...bedroom and bathroom for my elderly parents and we weren't disappointed. Whilst the lane it was on wasn't the easiest for them to walk on the adjacent lane down to the Smugglers Inn was far easier, and the meal we enjoyed made it worth the walk. The property was spacious and very clean, and the garden was truly wonderful with amazing wildlife (nightly badger visits and we watched a playful stoat gambolling on the lawn during the afternoon together with so many birds visiting the bird table). Close enough to dog friendly beaches, pubs and Craig's Dairy tea room we couldn't fault it and will definitely visit again. Submitted by Sally on 25/09/2016

...with others in the UK that we have experienced. The interior is clean and welcoming. Our party consisted 2 adults, 2 children and 2 elderly parents. The property exceeded expectations based upon the website photos and descriptions. The owners were very friendly and approachable. This is a great property for a family reunion as it has lots of space to spread out. The gardens are beautifully maintained with uncountable flowering plants especially roses. The property is suitable for less mobile guests having a ground floor double bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is large and has all the conveniences that could be required. The equipment is of a high quality. The property has excellent wifi for those who need access to the internet. We had a lovely experience and we highly recommended the Gannets.
