It is placated in a wonderful place so scenic and ideal for a break away but close enough to local shops and pub. Extremely pet friendly and safe, we all loved it. It rained quite a lot whilst we stayed but the fire was wonderful and cosy. We walked the public footpaths right outside the property into the High Street most days and had trips to Durdle Door, Weymouth, Lulworth Cove and Portland. Would definitely stay again, thank you.

In the opposite direction the cycle path takes you into the centre of Dorchester town (12 mins or so). Being close to a road, the traffic noise is quite loud, but we got used to it. Good sized secure garden for our dog. The lodge itself is looking a bit tired in places and the sofa is very uncomfortable and definitely needs ditching! However the king size bed is very comfortable. All in all, we and our 2 year old cockapoo thoroughly enjoyed our much-needed 5 night break away and the lodge is a good base from which to explore lovely Dorset.

The place itself has all you need for a wonderful stay. Very comfortable and although right next to a road, the traffic noise is minimal. Bath is small but shower makes up for it. Would definitely holiday here again. Also the food in The Sun Inn pub is lovely and is only a 5 minute walk away in the opposite direction to Dorchester.
