About this property

A modern first floor apartment located in a quaint Devon village

Taking you away from the stresses and strains of everyday life is Old Seaway Mews. Located on the edge of the beautiful South Devon village of Stokeinteignhead, you can get away from it all, whilst still remaining in close proximity to the lively seaside towns of Teignmouth and Torquay.

The traditional exterior gives way to a bright and modern space with an open plan living, kitchen and dining area with floor to ceiling beams, and other features giving a visible reminder of this property’s original guise. There is a spacious double bedroom with en suite bathroom, the second bedroom is accessed through the Master bedroom via a separate door and stairs.

Outside you have your own peaceful terrace to enjoy those quiet mornings or late evenings when all you can hear for miles around is the sound of birds and other wildlife, or if you can be tempted to leave your surroundings, then there is a great country pub, The Church House Inn which can be found in the centre of this tranquil village, plus a highly regarded traditional village shop for essentials and local free range eggs and fresh bread.

This is an excellent location for a peaceful and relaxing break and is ideally suited to guests who wish to bring their four legged friends along as there are great opportunities for coast and country walks including the stroll down to Maidencombe Beach via the award winning Thatched Tavern.

The Babbacombe Model Village and Oddicombe Cliff Railway, fishing in Shaldon and the numerous boat trips around Torbay can all be found within a few miles of the apartment, and if you don’t want to take the car, then there are a number of charming coves and beaches along the South West Coastal Path which runs within a mile of Old Seaway House Mews.
Although the property has two bedrooms, the only bathroom is an en-suite to the master bedroom

Even though we were only planning to be in Devon for a few days to visit our mum, my sister and I wanted to have a bit more space than that offered by sharing a room in a B&B. This was the perfect choice, with two bedrooms and an ample sized lounge and kitchen area. Clean, practical and with comfy beds, the only real inconvenience are the steps up to the shared bathroom in the middle of the night from the second bedroom. Local pubs are absolutely fantastic and the location is perfect between Teignmouth and Torquay with Waitrose stores within striking distance! Visitors should be aware that this property doesn't have a dishwasher nor a continental french press for freshly brewed coffee.

We spent a very happy week at Old Seaway Mews. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. On our arrival, we were delighted to find fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, home-baked brownies, bread, milk, eggs, butter, tea, coffee and more. The apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It is located in a quiet country lane, within walking distance of the coast and two pubs which do very good food. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Seaway Mews had everything we needed on arrival, it was warm despite the freezing weather and there were brownies on the table. The owners took great care to make sure that had all that we needed and were very friendly. The Mews was very clean and spacious. There was a lovely shower, warm bed, and all the essentials we needed like tea, milk and bread.
