Plus, with Thurlestone Sands only 200 metres away, beach days out are as easy as they can be. Also on hand are tennis courts and the Thurlestone golf course, ideal for keen golfers.
Slightly further afield are the beautiful beaches of The English Riviera and South Hams where you will find a mixture of quiet coves and family-friendly beaches with water sports and other activities to choose from.

...Even though the weather wasn't great for the whole time (last fortnight in September) we had a great time. The apartment was lovely and clean, uncluttered but welcoming and very well-equipped. The open-plan living area seemed even more spacious because of the lovely big French windows. The garden view is beautiful and the sea visible in the distance from both sides, being on a corner and it's a great position for the sun all day. The television looked rather small for the room-size in the pictures but was fine since it was virtually all 'screen' with hardly any 'rim'. The bedrooms are attractive and functional with plenty of hanging space in the two main bedrooms. The main bathroom is very spacious and the shower room fine. There were plenty of hooks for robes (and towel rails)which is frequently not the case even in many very good holiday lets. The choice of beaches is great-the closest, South Milton is really lovely and many are dog-friendly even in high season. Bantham (dog-restrictions) and Bigbury/Burgh Island are pretty stunning. There are plenty of places to eat out and we particularly enjoyed the ones in Hope Cove. All in all, we couldn't recommend it more highly and many thanks to the owners for the lovely 'welcome pack' including tea, coffee, milk, wine and biscuits. Submitted by Lisa on 03/10/2016

...Thurlestone Beach House and have to say, we were very sad to leave. We wanted a last minute quick break and this was just perfect. Within easy reach of the lovely beach, fantastic coastal walks over to Bantham and beyond. We took the 3 kids, bikes and the dog and every day there was something to do. We are not particularly water-sports kinda folk, but could see that if we were, there would be no shortage of activities! As it was, we kept ourselves busy with long walks, bike-rides, lazy afternoon lunches at the Village Inn in Thurlestone (highly recommend by the way) and lovely meanders and a spot of crabbing in the lovely town of Salcombe (within a 20 minute drive of the apartment).. The apartment was well equipped with plenty of space and in an amazing location. The sunsets were awesome. Loved the communal gardens and the fact that we could bring along our dog.. All the other residents were kind and considerate and we all took care of our surroundings.. All in all, a great week and we will definitely be back! ps) If I had to make one complaint, it would be that there was no broom to sweep up the inevitable sand that accompanied us back from our little jaunts! :) Submitted by Fiona on 22/08/2016
