The Millbrook Inn another popular gastropub is close by in the pretty village of South Pool, where there is also tidal estuary access. The historic town of Dartmouth is an 11 mile drive, and the bustling market town of Kingsbridge 8 miles away both with shops, restaurants, cafes and cinemas. Salcombe can be reached by the foot ferry from East Portlemouth, or by road a little further past Kingsbridge, and bohemian Totnes is a hive of independent shops, and has a popular Christmas market along with good rail links. The surrounding area is scenic for walking with the South West Coast Path in easy reach and there are popular cycling routes and plenty of options for watersports’. Local attractions and cosy village pubs are plentiful in this fabulous area.
