Saunton sands is just a short walk from Saunton Down, and this three and a half mile stretch of golden sand is popular with families and is renowned for excellent surfing conditions and water sports.
Beyond the beach you’ll find Braunton Burrows, a spectacular expanse of sand dunes that is the core of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve and offers an abundance of flora and fauna to explore. For the walkers, The South West Coast is within easy reach too, encompassing Croyde and Woolacombe which are home to world class surfing beaches.

I have limited mobility due to a motor cycle accident 6o years ago when both femurs ,tib and fib and ankle etc were broken and I spent two years in hospital with over 40 trips to the operating theatre Hence the steep narrow stairs with a creaky handrail was not good However Kerry was a joy in accommodating us in our time of needIn your glib "there is a garden gate giving access to the beach" does not convey a knee-high grass field, numerous gates, steep rocky paths and unsafe cliff edge path and fencing I made it down to the beach once only and came back via the carpark access road and the very busy, narrow Saunton Road without any path or pavement. Needless to say I did not try it again and spent the week in a room and garden with a splendid view and and also a television which we could not operate We went for an meal in The Thatch at Croyde which was jam packed with cars and people and returned as we could not find a parking placeObviously my able bodied wife went for long walks with and without our blind terrier

You will find it hard to find a holiday apartment with a better view, breathtaking! The beautiful, huge beach with toilets, shop and excellent restaurant is just a ten min walk. The small but adequate garden with 180 degree coastal views a fab place to have a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Owner lives next door and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Would definitely recommend for a family or couple!
