Yenworthy cottage -outstanding location so peaceful when you need to get away from city life being allowed to roam the farm meant we didn't have to venture off the estate to walk the dog or use the car as you have access to the coastal path and on the moors ,we walked to lynton and lynmouth. The cottage itself has basic appliances but everything you need for your stay with a large open fire and ample supply of logs ,both showers worked well and master bed was comfortable.

Great remote location for exploring Exmoor, 15 mins by car to either Porlock or Lynmouth. High ceilings, comfy beds, lots of hot water and good central heating - house needs more TLC and better deep cleaning which could be easily rectified and would make this a super place to rent. Things to fix:.... Great remote location for exploring Exmoor, 15 mins by car to either Porlock or Lynmouth. High ceilings, comfy beds, lots of hot water and good central heating - house needs more TLC and better deep cleaning which could be easily rectified and would make this a super place to rent. Things to fix: Fridge needs a new light bulb. Kitchen bin lid doesn't close down - Cleaning issues: Previous tenants rubbish and bag of dog poo left in porch to greet us when we arrived - LOVELY... NOT! Black Mold in new top shower on grout and tiles. Could so easily be removed and mad to let grow in new showers. Fan in top bathroom FULL of dust and fluff so completely blocked - adding to mold. Top room window frames totally black and rotten due to damp. Couldn't open as worried they were stuck and would then fall out if we bashed them open. More unbelievable Black mold on window frames in kitchen and sitting room. I had to clean all the windows inside as we got wheezy. No recycling bin inside kitchen? Why not? Carpets badly stained ( by coffee? /dogs?) in sitting room and also in top bedroom so looks grotty. Wall Lights in sitting room FULL of dead flies which you only see when lights are on - so I can see why a cleaner may miss this. Sofas full of sweet wrappers, coins, dust, fluff under cushions - disgusting - we lost a phone which is why I had to remove cushions YUCK Games and book shelves filthy - I cleaned and sorted them out - as so wet couldn't leave house for the first 48 hours. Things missing in Kitchen: No oven gloves Tea towels supplied were actually an old napkin and a tiny cotton towel. No drying rack for wet clothes - which is a huge oversight as we had 5 days of torrential rain so had to use radiators and kitchen chairs to hang things over to dry which I wouldn't at home. No logs supllied in outside bin. Which in winter would be thoughtful. No clothes washing powder/tablets supplied - even a couple would be a kind gesture - I left the box we bought for future guests No roll of Kitchen towel supplied No condiments at all - guests must surely leave salt/ pepper/ oil etc - boring to have to buy for a few days so we left ours there for future guests to use! Incorrect information on listings on both VRBO and your website. There is NO sign post on main road showing tiny lane to cottage making it hard to locate exit off main road esp. as no phone signal on moor. Down lane - the sign says Cottage /Mill (NOT Yenworthy Cottage) so not completely obvious to turn down it as there are 2 or 3 houses ahead on the road- so in the dark it is not clear where to go if you are looking for a sign saying YENWORTHY COTTAGE when you first arrive. No old Lorna Doone gun over fireplace? or anywhere in cottage so why list it? I reset CH/HW timer in kitchen as still on old time! SIMPLE Suggestions: Only two big towels ( bath sheets) in the top bedroom. Other towels on the first floor were smaller. WHY? It would have been nice for our kids to have bath sheets too as they are 6'5'' and 6'1''. Put or build a Bench in the porch for walkers to sit on to remove muddy boots to save going indoors to remove them. Supply a Boot Jack to remove muddy boots/ or have a metal rail /scraper outside the porch - we had unbelievably wet weather with mud up to our ears so our hands got filthy removing boots, waterproofs etc. easier if we could pull off with a jack. Could also put up hooks in porch to hang wet garments on?
