Accommodation

Red Gables is within a 10 minute walk from Barnstaple town centre. Barnstaple is reputed to be the oldest borough in England, it continues to be an important market town for the region and has a lively town centre, bustling with cafes, restaurants and shops. The Tarka Trail with bike hire is found at Barnstaple train station, a series of footpaths and cycle paths around North Devon that follow the route taken by Tarka the Otter in the book of that name. It is a figure-of-eight route, based in Barnstaple and covers some 31 miles of path. From Red Gables you can access the trail in less than two minutes without crossing any main roads.
Within 10-13 miles are the beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Puttsborough, that all have fantastic surf facilities. For rainy days the Atlantic shopping centre is within easy driving distance on the outskirts of Bideford. The Centre has many well-known high street brands to browse such as Nike and Marks and Spencers. Ideal days out for families include The Big Sheep and The Milky Way both great adventure lands that have indoor and out activities for all the family.
