Overlooking a private lake, Colliery Lane Lodges is a collection of bespoke lodges in a peaceful rural setting providing easy access to the Peak District National Park. With the attractions of Conkers Indoor and Outdoor Centre within 3 miles and Drayton Manor Theme Park and Alton Towers a little further afield, Colliery Lane Lodges is the ideal base to experience everything the area has to offer from peaceful walks and cycling to the thrills and spills of the country’s top tourist attractions. Or just sit back and unwind with some fishing or in your outdoor hot tub, watching the sun set across the lake.

Well where to start I’ll start with the good, Big spacious cabin with lots of storage. The guy running the bar was very friendly and great with the kids. The fridge, microwave and oven were spotless. The little play ground with the trampoline was lovely for the kids. The not so good Smelt of sick In hall way. I had to Spray it with fabreeze. Dirty dishesDirty tea towel had crusty food on from previous renters, dirty oven gloves too.No little pack that I’d expect, small wash liquid, sponge, scourer, dishwasher tablets, small soap.Mercy water in hot tub/ faulty part in hot tub kept coming off when bubble were on this said on top do not take off while operating/ all buttons in hot tub broken/ salt water in it/ Pillow looked like it had been jumped by a dogNo oven trays, kitchen not equipped for needs, utensils that were as much use as my finger! pans that didn’t accommodate a family of four but more cooking for 1.Needs a deep clean, pillows replaced, equipment in kitchen updated. Add a little welcome pack doesn’t need to be anything extravagant On arrivalWas told there was a button missing and on order on the oven but failed to mention it was in fact the grill and this did not arrive on our stayHot tub checked on our second day only but was not tested just used a net through itWould not recommend at all. I’d like to add I am not a complainer at all I’ve never left a review before with anything negative in, we just seemed to find one thing after another and let our stay down! We made the best of it but I couldn’t wait to get in my shower when I got home I felt dirty.

Beautifully spacious Lodges with amazing hottubs. Super friendly staff on site. The only downside was the main double bed mattress was slightly hard, this won't stop us returning though and we look forward to being back soon.
