Topshill Cottage is a charming cottage in a wonderfully peaceful location with breathtaking views over the Ecclesbourne Valley. Created from a mellow stone barn it offers super accommodation with a spacious, beamed lounge gathered around a glowing log burning stove, quality bedroom and really well equipped kitchen.

Set at the end of a quiet hawthorn clad lane with beautiful countryside all around you will think you are in the middle of nowhere. Yet the attractive village of Kirk Ireton with its stores, post office and famous pub is just a short walk away. Wirksworth, which is a brilliant little historic town, is also close by as is Ashbourne with its colourful market and lots of interesting shops. Carsington's wild water sports, Matlock Bath's exciting cable cars, Peak Rail's steam trains and the National Tramway Museum are to be found in the surrounding hills.

More traditional days out can be had in and around the Peak District, perhaps exploring Chatsworth House, visiting Haddon Hall or venturing out to Hardwick Hall. But make sure you get back in time for a 'real ale' from the jug in the Barley Mow before a last glass or two in the cottage garden under a night time canopy of stars.

Cottage facilities:

An attractive and very spacious lounge with vaulted, beamed ceiling, comfortable settees, T.V., DVD, glowing log burning stove and views over the valley. An adjoining dining area. A well-fitted kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and automatic washer. A lovely double bedroom. A bathroom with bath/shower over and WC.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of logs for the stove are included. (£15 p.w. charged extra Oct - Mar).  There is a garden with fantastic views together with a secluded patio with furniture. Ample parking is available. Pets are allowed  by arrangement charged £20 per pet(dogs must be kept on leads). Smoking is not permitted. The cottage is not suitable for babies and toddlers. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details and a copy of the cottage access statement.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
