Built around its famous 12th century medieval Priory and steeped in history, Cartmel offers a wonderful mix of tradition and present day surprises including fine quality shops, friendly inns, restaurants and 5* dining at the world renowned L’Enclume restaurant. For those of you who fancy a bit of a flutter Cartmel race days offer plenty of excitement and perhaps even a win. A short drive away is the coastal village of Grange-over-Sands where you stroll along the promenade or browse around the shops. The tip of Lake Windermere is also close by, why not hop on a Steamer and relax whilst cruising along the lake stopping off or passing by the bustling town of Bowness on Windermere or the picturesque village of Ambleside.
