    About this property

Grange-over-Sands 1.5 miles. This superb detached cottage is situated in the small village of Kents Bank, just 1.5 miles from Grange-over-Sands. Boasting spectacular views over Morecambe Bay from the first floor, this delightful cottage is conveniently located within a few minutes’ walk from Kents Bank railway station and village shop. This marvellous cottage is the perfect base for families and friends who wish to spend time together in a charming corner of Cumbria. With wonderful styling and furnishings throughout, this cottage has a superb first floor kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area. Also on the first floor is a bright and contemporary sitting room with gas fire and a patio door which opens out on to a large sunny terrace, where you can relax with a drink and admire the forever changing views across the bay. On the second floor are three bedrooms, including a master super king-size double room with en-suite shower room, as well as a family bathroom, and on the ground floor is a cloakroom with basin and WC. Attached to this holiday home is a garage with laundry facilities and bike storage, and after a busy day exploring the area on foot or by bike, why not return and enjoy spending time in the rear, enclosed, terraced garden? Being so close to the branch railway line it’s a shame not to hop on board and take a journey across the bay to the lovely seaside village of Arnside. Alternatively, drive the few miles to Cartmel in order to browse the charming shops, or you may wish to dine out in style at the famous L’Enclume restaurant. Younger guests will love the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway which links in with the Windermere Steamers that take you up Lake Windermere to the bustling towns of Bowness and Ambleside in the beautiful Lake District National Park. An excellent cottage that provides an ideal family base, all year round.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay. The town offers a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens and golf courses. There are many places to visit nearby, including Lake Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere, Hawkshead, Cartmel, Sizergh Castle and Conishead Priory.

" Also it would be useful to have the numbers or some signage at the bottom of the drive as we found it difficult to find at night on arrival "
    Mr Limrick, August 2018 ‐ 1 Aug 2018
" Very convenient location means you can easily explore the southern Lake District plus a 10 minute walk to a station means you also have the option to leave the car behind. "
    Mrs Prentice, August 2018 ‐ 1 Aug 2018
" Lovely views from the balcony and upstairs bedrooms. "
    Miss Hatfield ‐ 1 Jul 2018
"Property a little hard to find as there is no sign post or number visible from road as it's up a driveway to other houses. Back garden could do with good tidy and there was a lot of dog muck but I think that's more down to been like a jungle and can't find it. There is no shop near by its 10mins car or 30min walk. Property was lovely, modern, and comfortable with stunning views from balcony."
    Mrs Pacitto ‐ 1 Jun 2018
"Great situation for the lakes. Very clean and comfortable, all the facilities of home available. Obviously a great deal of thought has gone into it. Nice touch of a welcome basket."

    Mr Dospinescu ‐ 1 Apr 2018
"I was very pleasantly surprised by the house, the atmosphere, the silence around, the morning to hear the song of the birds and nothing else, it's great!"
    Mrs Parkinson ‐ 1 Mar 2018
"Fabulous cottage great location yes half an hour walk out of grange but what a lovely walk on the promenade just a few steps from the end if the drive and the Kent’s bank railway station a few hundred yards from front door with trains to Ulverston Arnside Carnforth and Lancaster to name a few stops on the line. Very spacious cottage with great layout extremely comfortable and very warm and cosy. Lovely bathrooms and great kitchen space. Good parking space and dog friendly we would definitely stay here again."
    - Mrs Gibbons, September 2016
"The property was home from home, everything you need and more. The view was beautiful and was so peaceful, I would definitely recommend it and would book again."
    - Mrs Mason, October 2016
"Rockcliffe proved to be everything it said it was - and more. The house was spacious, well equipped and very clean, with an amazing view from the balcony. There are walks in all directions, perfect if you have a dog, and you are just a few minutes walk from the coast. The Pheasant pub at Allithwaite, (20 minutes walk or a few minutes in the car), serves great food and it is dog friendly, as is the Rose and Crown at Cark in Cartmel, (3 miles) and the Royal Oak in Cartmel, (2 miles). With Grange over Sands just a mile away and Cartmel 2 miles away, Rockliffe is ideally located if you don't want to travel too far every day, but want the peace and quiet of a small village like Kents Bank."
    - Mr Walker, October 2016
"The property was excellent. Location was superb. Would certainly recommend it to others."
    - Mrs Durrant, October 2016
"Even though property is marketed for 6, if there were 6 adults seating in the lounge it would be tight! Garden needs securing around hedges and gate needs netting or something similar as our friends little westie got out! Otherwise superb property warm, cosy & fantastic sunrises over the bay. Window in main bedroom needs checking as not shutting every time & light for the garden is not working."
    - Mr Boyd, November 2016
"A great holiday house with thanks to the owners for making it very homely. Everything you need is there with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. Very comfortable big beds but pillows could be better. If you have a dog even towels, bags etc are there to use. The only downside with the dog is the small back garden. Also the garden paths were muddy and there were quite a few loose rockery stones which you have to be careful with. The views are good from the balcony but some trees are getting over grown so they are starting to block it. The most disappointing aspect of the house is the hallway. There has been a leak at some point which doesn't look good and smells musty. We had problems with the heating and had to contact . Couldn't ask for better service as within a few hours someone came out. As stated by a previous reviewer the outside light was not working but a new bulb was fitted by me!! Grange Over Sands is much better than expected. Lots of walks from the house and a good local park to run the dog. No supermarkets which was great as it was good to buy local produce. We would definitely return as we had a really enjoyable break."
    - Mr Humphris, March 2017
"I said no to re booking not because there was anything wrong, in fact it was brilliant, but just because Grange was the wrong place for me. I love the Lakes and it was just to far from the places I love to go."
    - Mrs Miller, April 2017
"Everything was great with this house but it was just the beds were too hard for us."
    - Mr Burgess, April 2017
"House was lovely and well equipped, but could do with a pair of oven gloves"
    - Mrs Tate, June 2017
    "beautiful house with excellent facilities."
    Mrs Tate
"beautiful house with excellent facilities. great location. plenty of dog friendly pubs and cafes in easy radius."
    Mrs Alison Spencer, Clitheroe, Lancashire
"We thought this house was so well equipped and very comfortable too. The bathrooms and showers were very good."
    Mrs Ingrid Fordred, Banbury,
"Beautiful views from the sitting room and every room was very spacious."
    Mrs Jill Allwood, Darlington, Durham
"Liked everything, the location, and the house was even better than expected; clean modern, spacious and just ideal in every way."
    Mrs Rebecca Watts, Thetford, Norfolk
"The cottage is set in a beautiful and accessible setting to access the Lake District. The cottage itself is very clean and tidy with ideal contemporary minimalist decor. We had a lovely time."
    - Mrs Prentice, August 2018

    - Mr Limrick, August 2018
