Ousby is in an undiscovered area of Cumbria where peace and tranquillity are in abundance and within a few minutes drive on meandering country lanes of many villages scattered throughout the Eden Valley.
The cottage adjoins Corn Rigg Cottage and sits in spacious grounds in open rural countryside with views to the north Pennines. The cottages have been converted from a derelict field barn into luxuriously appointed accommodation that is sure to be appreciated by the discerning client, furnished and decorated in a contemporary style to provide for your every need. Disappointed not to receive a welcome pack, first cottage we have rented without a wee gift on arrival, it's only a small thing but makes a big difference. Cottage well presented and well equipped but other dog owners hadn't cleaned up after themselves and the grass could have done with a wee mow to assist with this task. Hot water for shower also kept going off and needed to be reset, the wifi is really none existent and whilst we realise this is not necessarily the owners fault we still missed it, constantly dropping and equivalent to dial up speeds at best, not sure how the locals survive if this is the norm. Drying room was very welcome and meant we could get everything dry overnight with no fuss, great if you are planning and big hill walks. Try the Fox Inn - new owners very welcoming and dog friendly.

The property was very clean and excellently presented. A couple of minor issues like plug in bathroom sink not staying in and unable to switch towel rail on in bathroom or drying room which had a musty smell when fan off. But saying that it is a beautiful location, local people very nice and friendly, lovely view and I would recommend a stay there to anyone. Did think £20 per dog was quite a lot as we were to make sure there was no sign of them having been there.

The Townies
The cottage is well equipped with all you should need for a break, clean and tidy, with neutral decor, bedrooms/bathrooms lovely. It is in a fantastic location with many lovely walks on the door step. Nearest village shop in Langwathby approx 4 miles, good food in the Shepherd Inn pub. Friendly and helpful locals.
