The property is near Hadrian's Wall, the popular town of Brampton is less than 10 minutes' drive away and offers shops and pubs, plus the Talkin Tarn Country Park and Gelt Woods are nearby, as is the lovely Lanercost Priory, just one mile from your Brampton cottage. Superbly placed for exploring both the Lake District and Northumberland National Parks, and with excellent walks and cycling available from the doorstep, this superb Brampton cottage is a perfect base at any time of the year.
The market town of Brampton offers shops and pubs. A few miles from the town is Talkin Tarn Country Park and Gelt Woods, plus the city of Carlisle is ten miles away.

Scenic views, excellent for dog walks and historic sites on the doorstep.

It commands outstanding and glorious views of the surrounding countryside and must be wonderful in summer. Unfortunately the weather was against us and the winding roads on the approach to Banks from Brampton mean that driving with care is a must! Even with very wet weather the views were amazing. We found the kitchen to be very cold and did not realise that there was a heater there! It would be good to point this out to winter visitors. Otherwise the accommodation is very beautiful and roomy. We had a little trouble finding the property in the dark, and more detailed instructions on how to find the property would be helpful - though Banks is a small hamlet and it is not possible to really get lost. Lanercost Priory is very close. I cannot imagine a better location for a stay in Cumbria near to "the Wall" - wonderful! The lady owner provided a lovely plate of home made jam and cream scones, a bottle of white wine and shortbread biscuits on our arrival - the scones in particular were delicious! Though we were not on holiday we enjoyed our stay at Hadrian's View and would highly recommend the property to anyone who appreciates the beautiful scenery of Hadrian's Wall country!

Itâs located in a very picturesque village but within a few miles of Brampton which is an interesting town for a dayâs exploring, plus of course all the local Roman sites are within easy reach. Our host made us feel very welcome. All in all a great few days
