    About this property

With wonky beams, slopey floors and majestic views across the quintessential English scene, 'Brooklands' is just what you want from a typical Cotswolds cottage. Tucked within the Ballinger's Row, an historic collection of 17th Century cottages, Brooklands is the charming and perfect 'get away from it all' bolt hole within a truly romantic location. Not only that, inside the character speaks for itself, spacious rooms presented with antique touches, altogether give this beautiful home a truly cosy feel. Watch the telly or read a book in front of the fire, or simply do nothing but enjoy the exceptional setting and commanding views over the completely unspoilt Chedworth Valley. And there is a delightful country pub at the end of your lane too, The Seven Tuns which has opened once again after a number years being refurbished. Although in the Row, the impression is of complete seclusion and tranquility, having an enclosed mature garden and situated on a narrow lane with scarcely any traffic at all: but cars can deliver (and turn around at the end of the road) and are parked at the end of the lane. This is an eclectic, manor-style bolt hole just perfect for hiding away from the busy world!

Chedworth is an attractive historic village in Gloucestershire. The village has two friendly pubs and is home to one of the largest Roman villas in Britain. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the excellent scenic walks from the village including The Monarch’s Way and The Macmillan Way. Ideally located in the centre of the Cotswolds, popular towns including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford can all be discovered whilst staying in Chedworth.

" Perfect for a quiet relaxing break. "
    Mr Brown ‐ 1 Aug 2021
" Garden okay but still had to climb up stairs to get to it.if you young. It probably be okay not for older people.sorry. "
    Mr Marsden ‐ 1 Jun 2021
" The living room is bigger then it appears, and the enclosed back garden is a delight. "
    Mr Greenwood ‐ 1 Jun 2021
" Friendly neighbours, perfect base for exploring this corner of the cotswolds. "
    Mrs Fisk ‐ 1 Jun 2021
" Really we found the cottage dark and gloomy and having to use the steep creaking stairs to use the toilet quite chore. It's in a fabulous area but it's basic. Thankfully there is, a friendly neighbour who allowed us to use his parking space or that too would have been difficult given the position of the cottage. "
    Mrs Mcallister ‐ 1 Jun 2021
" Really comfy beds and all you needed for a self catering stay in well equipped kitchen. Though we did use local pub Seven Tuns twice and food was fabulous. Just a more comfy sofa would make even better. We loved it had some great walks and lovely to have garden to sit out in as we luckily had great weather. Will definitely return. Ideal location "
    Ms Murtin Borgel ‐ 1 May 2021
" You feel at home! One little kitchen tool was missing: a normal size strainer! "
    Mrs Johnson ‐ 1 Apr 2021
"The biscuits and milk left as a treat was a lovely welcome upon arrival. The wood burner was a huge plus as the evenings were pretty cold. The back garden was a real treat. The views from the cottage were wonderful. We enjoyed many walks around the area. The local pub was great and within easy walking distance. The only suggestion that I would have is a small box freezer unit as the fridge does not have any freezer facility, especially as there is no village shop."

" “The wood burning fire was great. We plan to return! If we wanted to be picky we'd say that a freezer (even a small box one) would have been useful and also a dishwasher.” "

"Home from home. Great location.Quiet and peaceful area.Excellant pub within a few minutes walk.Large private rear garden but unable to use to full advantage as no table and chairs only 2 small benches.Shame as lovely space and would have liked to sit out for drinks/food.Good wi-fi connection. Liked key box entry thereby avoiding need to arrive at a certain time."
    Mrs Cathie
" “Extremely quiet. We had some problems with heating that I assume the owner and manager are sorting out. Local cat made itself at home. You cannot park on site but it is easy to drop off and pick up bags and park nearby. It's in a tiny lane.” "

"The cottage was extremely well equipped, the owners have really thought of everything. Very impressive book collection throughout the cottage and artwork, spacious garden too. Cannot find one fault, it was gutting having to leave, Thank You Brooklands !!"

" Overall, the cottage is cosy and comfortable and perfect for a couple. We had a really nice time there. "
    Miss Davies, June 2019
" Lovely quiet village with a good pub just round the corner. A comfy sofa would be a good addition. "
    Ms Blakeley
" The cottage has lovely big rooms full of character. However there is no parking at the cottage and the nearest parking could sometimes be full. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. However there is only one bedside lamp, and as we both like to read in bed, a lamp on each side would have been appreciated. "
    Miss Davies
" Lovely quiet village with a good pub just round the corner. "
    Mrs Robinson
" The wooden beams and the gorgeous log burner added to the charm of the building. The location was perfect for getting out and about and was close to plenty of walks. There was a great local pub too! If anything, the cottage just needed a bigger, cosy sofa to come back to at the end of a long day exploring. A mini freezer for ice would have also been great! But we loved the cottage overall and would definitely consider returning. "
    Mrs Godley
"My back is destroyed..(well it wasn’t great to start with but now it’s totally destroyed.)Additional blankets are musty and dusty and not fit for use. Only one tea towel for a ten day stay."

"My husband, daughter and I could have spent an entire summer here. I really don't know where to start on relaying how wonderful Brooklands is. The village of Chedworth is picturesque and you can walk the entire town on foot paths that meander throughout the town. There are fresh wild berries and apples everywhere you walk and the neighbors are very friendly. The cottage itself is clean, homey and cozy. I highly recommend Brooklands cottage and I hope to make it back there one day!\"
