About this property

With wonky beams, slopey floors and majestic views across the quintessential English scene, 'Brooklands' is just what you want from a typical Cotswolds cottage. Tucked within the Ballinger's Row, an historic collection of 17th Century cottages, Brooklands is the charming and perfect 'get away from it all' bolt hole within a truly romantic location. Not only that, inside the character speaks for itself, spacious rooms presented with antique touches, altogether give this beautiful home a truly cosy feel. Watch the telly or read a book in front of the fire, or simply do nothing but enjoy the exceptional setting and commanding views over the completely unspoilt Chedworth Valley. And there is a delightful country pub at the end of your lane too, The Seven Tuns which has opened once again after a number years being refurbished. Although in the Row, the impression is of complete seclusion and tranquility, having an enclosed mature garden and situated on a narrow lane with scarcely any traffic at all: but cars can deliver (and turn around at the end of the road) and are parked at the end of the lane. This is an eclectic, manor-style bolt hole just perfect for hiding away from the busy world!

Chedworth is an attractive historic village in Gloucestershire. The village has two friendly pubs and is home to one of the largest Roman villas in Britain. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the excellent scenic walks from the village including The Monarch’s Way and The Macmillan Way. Ideally located in the centre of the Cotswolds, popular towns including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford can all be discovered whilst staying in Chedworth.

Staircase is steep and feels like it tilts forward slightly. No problem for us, it was a novelty, but any mobility issues and you'd be stuck. Parking at the bottom of the lane was no biggie, but again, if you have mobility issues, you'd struggle here. We actually loved our stay and would return gladly.

I don't feel you should have to pay for wood every day just to heat the place when you have already payed to stay . There should be another form of heating for the lounge. I know it is an old cottage but it's draughty and freezing. There is only a fixed shower. The parking is terrible, so not only do you get wet the cottage is freezing when you get there. Couldn't wait to come home.
