West Polmear House is a large, light and well furnished property in Duporth Bay on Cornwall’s south coast. Internally, there is a spacious kitchen with access to the garden and a generously sized living area that is enhanced by a wall mounted fireplace. Externally, there is a private lawn and patio area furnished with a table and chairs. This property also benefits from access to the secluded Duporth Sands, a beach that can only be reached by foot. The beach, with its fine sand, safe waters and a steep cliff backdrop, is an ideal setting to enjoy the stunning stretch of coastline.
Duporth is just minutes from the picturesque harbour village of Charlestown. The neighbouring village of Charlestown remains a working port and a real draw for those in search of a little history. As a point of interest, the port is also home to a historic china clay building, the largest UK collection of artefacts and treasure recovered from shipwrecks. Charlestown also offers two pubs, a hotel and two restaurants, offering everything from traditional pub grub with local real ales, to a la carte dining.
Only a couple of miles away from Duporth is St Austell, the largest town in Cornwall and home to a selection of independent shops. Here guests can experience the world famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, these major attractions attract worldwide visitors and provide an enjoyable day out for all ages.

...everything that you need for a family holiday. Within walking distance of a private beach, even with two small children (pebble beach). We were there in July and on two occasions had the beach to ourselves! Excellent location for attractions in the area including the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. ...school holiday. The house was a good size and nice and modern. The children had a great time playing hid and seek! There were a few bits that are broken but nothing that really effects your stay for example some chipped glasses, blind that doesn't open etc. There was a lovely private beach within walking distance of the house which the kids and I enjoyed exploring. ...appointed with quality furniture, bedding and furnishings. There was plentiful kitchen equipment and everything in good condition. The situation was ideal, being within easy access to the beach (although the walk back was a bit challenging for the older members!) and it's nearness to places of interest such as The Eden Project was a bonus. Shopping was also easy as supermarkets were nearby. Altogether a holiday house which I would warmly recommend. Submitted by Margaret on 17/08/2015
