Experience - The Area...
Set in a lovely moorland location with direct access to Bodmin Moor and wide open views across the owners 18 acres of rugged landscape, this granite built, single storey detached studio barn provides simple and light accommodation perfectly situated for those who wish to get away from it all.
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty with an abundance of moorland paths and walks to ancient stone circles, the property is approached by a rural lane and short gated track that leads both to Roosters and the owners adjacent farmhouse. Bodmin Moor has been awarded Dark Sky Landscape status and is an ideal location for stargazing.
St Breward, 1.5 miles, has a parish church, village store, and the 11th century Old Inn; Cornwall's highest pub. Wadebridge, Bodmin and Camelford have an array of shops, pubs, restaurants and sports centre within a 15 minute drive respectively and the nearest beaches are about 10 miles.
Both the North and South coasts can be reached in half an hour by car as well as the Eden Project, and locally there are excellent walks, cycle trails, fishing and pony trekking available. Colliford Lake Park with nature trails and lakeside walks is approximately 20 minutes away.
Stay - The Accommodation...Entered from the concrete drive where there is parking for one car, the front door opens to a useful porch with cloaks area and an inner door leads into an open plan, split level living room encompassing the length of the property with white washed stone walls and exposed cross beams in the apex of the roof.
At one end of the room there is a neatly fitted kitchen / dining area with a quarry tiled floor and a pine table with chairs; freezer space can be made available on request. A wide curtained archway and one step leads up to a carpeted area with a comfortable two seater sofa and a pine framed double bed. In the far corner, a door opens to a smart shower room W.C. with hand basin and heated towel rail.
The well insulated property is heated via night storage and portable electric heating and there are fine views from the double glazed windows over the garden across to open moorland in every direction.
There is a level lawn and attractive gazebo to the side of the property for the visitors sole use, and from here footpaths lead directly onto the moors - dogs will need to be kept under control since animals wander the moor freely.
Don't forget...- Short breaks available all year
- This property welcomes one medium size dog only
- Accommodation not suitable for children or babies
- Solar panels have been added to the roof of this property since the main image was taken.
