About this property

A beautiful cottage in a peaceful village settingA beautiful cottage in a peaceful village setting

The Rigging is a delightful Georgian three bedroom cottage set in the peaceful and idyllic area of Crumplehorn in Polperro, within easy reach of the fishing towns of Looe and Fowey and a short leisurely stroll through the village to the harbour front.

Internally the property has been beautifully furnished to a very high standard; there is a consistent pastel theme with stylish decorative pieces. Externally the property offers a front garden with seating for six which provides the ideal position to sit back, relax and watch the comings and goings of village life.

The village tearooms are within a two minute walk of The Rigging, as is the Crumplehorn Inn, a characterful 13th Century Inn offering hearty food. The picturesque village of Polperro can be reached in a leisurely stroll.

Polperro is arguably one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall, characterised by a jumble of fishermen’s cottages and colourful boats anchored in the harbour. Here you will also find a handful of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. Polperro also boasts spectacular coastal walks to explore, perfect for walking off our fabulous cream teas. There is also a small sandy beach in Polperro at low tide.

Be sure to visit the museum and minature village or take a boat trip from Polperro Harbour. Polperro also hosts a music festival each year and celebrates bonfire night with spectacular fireworks. There is a local golf course at nearby Looe, National Trust houses, the Duchy Garden Centre and much more within easy reach.

Within a short drive you will reach Looe, a popular resort with gift shops, fish and chip stalls and a popular family-friendly beach. Be sure to also make the short drive to Fowey, a charming fishing town with a selection of boutiques and art galleries. Fowey holds many events throughout the year including the popular Fowey Royal Regatta and the Daphne du Maurier literary festival. If you feel like a day on the water you can hire kayaks and boats or join a cruise along the river.

...children and adults. Excellently equipped and extremely clean and well maintained. The pub opposite is very good value for money and has a wide range of food options. Very welcoming of children. Polperro is beautiful and I will certainly be returning and will look to book the rigging again. Submitted by Mark on 29/12/2016

...but have never actually stayed in Polperro before. Polperro is a facinating, charming and beautiful fishing village, and no matter how many times i visit, it never ceases to take my breath away. To be able to be able to just stroll down into the village every day was wonderful. Even my teenage children love it. The Rigging cottage is well situated, well equiped, comfortable and homely. A five minute walk from the village with the lovely Crumplehorn inn opposite and many other restaurants and eating places near by. The cielings however are low, so if you are over 6 foot tall you may have a few bumps. Parking is excellent for 1 large car or 2 small ones. Also the bus stop is directly opposite, so if you want to leave the car behind and go off for the day you can. Submitted by Darren on 13/07/2015
