About this property

East Taphouse 1 mile. Ideally located for touring the south coast of Cornwall, this ultra-cosy yet spacious cottage is set within a small cluster of cottages near a farm, close to East Taphouse on the road to the famous fishing port of Looe. Nightingale Cottage has been specifically designed for a couple wanting somewhere special for a romantic break away together. On entering the cottage you will enjoy the character immediately, with quality furnishings and underfloor heating adding to the luxury that exudes throughout. The ground floor is open plan, with a well-equipped kitchen, and cosy sitting and dining areas. As you climb the stairs you reach a beautifully decorated and furnished bedroom, complete with king-size bed and woodburning stove. The bathroom is en-suite with a nice shower. Outside is your own pretty English cottage garden with seating and a BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining. The small town of Looe is approximately nine miles away, and centres around a harbour, and along the valley of the river which flows down to the sea and to a lovely sandy beach. Idyllic Looe Island is a nature reserve which, depending on the time of year, is possible to walk right around and is well worth the short ferry trip. Polperro, a famous quaint fishing village and harbour, is also a must visit and is only four miles from Looe. With major attractions such as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan also within easy reach, Nightingale Cottage offers so much to do and see, as well as being a perfect romantic retreat at any time of the year.

The small village of East Taphouse is located on the A390 in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside, perfectly situated for exploring all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer. Located between the historic market towns of Liskeard to the east and the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel to the west, there is also easy access to the picturesque old fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey and many spectacular sandy beaches and coves on the south coast, whilst the rugged and dramatic Bodmin Moor is just 10 minutes to the north.
