Only 200 yards from the beach with magnificent sea and coastal views, this charmingly decorated semi-detached double-glazed Victorian house is set above the coast road, in the unspoilt village of Downderry.
Approached by a flight of walled and gated steps that lead directly up from the road, there is a delightful paved and flower filled sun terrace overlooking the sea. The front door opens to a long hallway and to one side is a light and airy sitting room dominated by a bay window with stunning panoramic sea views. At the further end of the hall is a games room/children's bedroom with 3ft pine bunk beds, casual seating and a selection of games equipment.
In an extension to the original house at the rear, there is an L shaped fitted kitchen with a tiled floor and a wide open arch leading to a bright breakfast room with pine dining table and French doors to a small service courtyard.
Stairs lead up from the hall to a half landing and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath. Half a dozen steps then continue up to the first floor and two pleasant bedrooms; a master bedroom with a 6ft bed and wonderful sea views from a large bay window and the other bedroom at the rear has two single beds and painted wooden floorboards.
A second flight of carpeted stairs continue up to the top floor and a spacious bedroom with a double and single bed, stunning sea views from two large dormer windows and an en-suite bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and shower cubicle.
At the rear of the property, a gated flight of 30 railed steps lead up to the elevated garden built into the hillside with a terraced lawn and children's playhouse, and 10 further steps up to a gravel patio which enjoys a birds eye view over the rooftops to the sea. Young children will require supervision.
There is unrestricted parking on the road outside and all the village amenities including a car park, shop/P.O., pub, cafe and restaurant are just a five minute walk. The beach is a couple of minutes walk downhill as is the South West Coast Path. Seaton, 1 mile west, has an excellent beach cafe and a lovely two mile nature walk through Seaton Valley Countryside Park. Crafthole Reservoir has coarse fishing 3 miles away and there are golf courses nearby at Looe and Portwrinkle. Diving is available at the artificial diving reef, Scylla, in Whitsand Bay and a selection of boat trips depart from the harbour in Looe, 8 miles.
Please note: Out of school holiday periods there is a discount available to parties of 4 or less. Please contact our office for details.
Mr P Mills
Victoria Villa is in a wonderful location, close to the beach and the pretty village of Seaton with a wonderful cafe. The cottage itself is comfortable and feels really homely. We stayed with friends, between us we had 3 small children who loved the playroom and front terrace. And who all slept well every night thanks to the sea air and Cornish fun!
Mrs D A Brown
The best view from any property we have ever stayed in, the house was extremely comfortable and well equipped, we had no complaints at all and had a lovely stay - thank you.
