About this property

The Bolthole is a converted farm building and is an ideal base for a couple, sleeping up to two adults and one child under two in a cot, located in the centre of picturesque Crantock village, on the north coast of Cornwall a short walk to Crantock beach and the sea. This self catering cottage by the sea, is within the curtilage of The Orchard but has its own entrance, parking and outside space. This cottage is all on one level with an ensuite bathroom, making it ideal for those who prefer not to go upstairs. The Bolthole will appeal to those who enjoy being able to walk to the beach and the pub, yet be a short drive from all of Cornwall’s sporting and other attractions. The front door opens into the light and airy kitchen/living room which is furnished with a very comfortable sofa and an ottoman, dining table & chairs for two, flat screen TV, DVD & HiFi. The kitchen is fitted with stainless steel appliances and comes complete with an electric hob, double fitted oven, fridge (with ice box) and washing machine. A door leads to the bedroom with its super king sized bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, there is also room for a cot. The gorgeous ensuite bathroom has tiled floor and walls, a double ended bath and a separate, generously sized separate shower cubicle. Outside there is a private, enclosed seating area ideal for outside dining or just sitting and relaxing. One car can be parked right next to the cottage. The Bolthole is close to the South West Coastal Path, and is an ideal base for those who like to walk a bit further than to the beach and pub. Five minutes walk away is Crantock’s sandy beach which is suitable for families and surfers alike. Two minutes walk away are two pubs, a Londis grocery store, Post Office, art gallery and the church of St Carantoc. As well as driving, you can fly to Newquay airport, which is only eight miles away, where taxis and hire cars can be booked. The Bolthole provides exactly what one would expect to find in our pet friendly cottages in Cornwall with just a short walk to Crantock’s expansive sandy beach.

Note: This property can be booked with ref 983152 and together they sleep 11.

Crantock is a small Cornish village set back from the coast close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the north to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

The accommodation was perfect for my partner and I. The accommodation was spotless and the perfect size for two. Its location within Crantock Village cannot be faulted less than 30 seconds to the local shop - fantastic bread by the way! A two minute walk to two great village pubs. The beach is less than 10 minutes. Our two dogs can with us and they loved the many walks around Crantock. I could not fault the Bolthole all the village we will be back!

The two of us and our 2 dogs spent 3 nights at the Bolthole and it could not have been better. The booking was easy, the information provided was accurate and comprehensive and the local agent, Pauline, gave prompt answers to the few questions we had. The property is exactly as described and of a very high standard and the welcome cream tea was much appreciated. The location is perfect with proximity to the beach and local walks and the village pubs and shop were ideal. We had a fantastic time and will be returning!
