    About this property

Penhale Vean is a beautiful barn conversion with super country views in a rural setting, three miles from the fishing village of Porthleven. A romantic hideaway for two, it is tucked away in a tranquil spot, next to the owner's' home and just one near neighbour. Arranged on one level the stylish interior is contemporary and is finished to a very high standard with slate floors, vaulted ceilings and exposed timber beams. Step inside and you will find the kitchen is well equipped with all the mod cons to conjure up a culinary delight before cuddling up on the comfy sofa and watching TV. The double bedroom is light and airy with ample storage. A light and spacious pristine shower room completes the inside of this wonderful holiday home. Patio doors lead from the open plan living room onto the outside sitting area which is a perfect spot for sunshine dining or an evening tipple or why not enjoy a lazy breakfast in bed overlooking the pretty enclosed front garden. Penhale Vean is conveniently placed near the main Falmouth/Penzance route and is perfectly located for exploring this lovely part of Cornwall. Nearby Helston, the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, is great for picking up everyday provisions or visiting the traditional pubs and inns. Porthleven, a pretty fishing port on the south coast, is now a recognised foodie destination. It is also home to several galleries, shops and coffee houses. For delightful fishing villages, pretty coves, sandy beaches and amazing walking, visit Kynance Cove, Mullion, Coverack or Cadgwith for postcard prettiness. Forming the northern boundary to the Lizard Peninsula is the Helford River offering a Swallows and Amazons landscape of wooded valleys and creeks with boat trips/hire available. This cosy bolthole is ideal for a restful break in any season. Access to this property is via approx 10 steps (handrail) which can be viewed in picture 3.

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden coastal gems, located near Helston famous for its annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity.

"The barn convertion was excellent, everything inside was first class. We could not have asked for more."
    Mrs Unitt ‐ 1 Sep 2018
"A very restful environment and the accommodation was compact but extremely comfortable. Everything was supplied so all you had to do was relax. The adjoining owners were very welcoming and the cream tea and other little luxuries were really appreciated. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you."
    Mrs Eccleston ‐ 1 Aug 2018
"Plenty of crockery etc. And the best scones we have been left in a cottage. Alison the owner is just lovely, nothing to much trouble. We are already planning the return visit."

"The cottage was very clean, very comfortable beds & lovely linen. Plenty of crockery etc. And the best scones we have been left in a cottage. Alison the owner is just lovely, nothing to much trouble. We are already planning the return visit."

"The quality and location of the property and the helpfulness of the owner"
    Mr Hills ‐ 1 Nov 2017
"We went in November when the weather was cold and wet but the cottage itself was snug and warm with a comfortable bed and everything else you needed including a Cornish Cream tea on arrival. You had all the makings for tea coffee etc etc for the duration just like a guest house. It was beautifully quiet. We did though picture it as being a short drive to the sea but it wasn’t as close as we thought it would be. The cottage itself was faultless and the owners were really lovely and friendly. So to sum up - a beautiful quiet rural place to stay but a bit of a long arduous windy drive to the sea! That is the only reason we wouldn’t rebook this lovely cottage."
