Guests say

Rookery Cottage is a cosy and well-equipped retreat in a peaceful, rural setting, ideal for those seeking tranquillity and dog-friendly accommodation. Guests appreciated the comfortable lounge and bedrooms, as well as the enclosed outdoor space for dogs. The location offers lovely countryside views and is within driving distance of excellent dog walks and local pubs. Some guests noted that the property could benefit from improved cleanliness, garden maintenance, and clearer instructions for appliances. The cottage's remote location and steep stairs may not suit everyone, but it provides a relaxing base for exploring the St Neots area.

Several guests mentioned issues with cleanliness, including cobwebs, dead insects, and an unclean oven and water heater. While some areas like the tiled kitchen floor were appreciated, a more thorough cleaning between stays is needed.

The cottage's peaceful and rural location was widely praised, offering lovely views and tranquillity. However, its remoteness and difficulty to find were noted, and local walking paths were sometimes overgrown.

Guests found the cottage cosy with comfortable lounge and bedrooms, and enjoyed the hot shower. The steep and uneven stairs were a drawback, especially for those with mobility issues.

The cottage is well-equipped, but guests highlighted the need for better outdoor lighting, recycling bins, an outside tap, and clearer instructions for appliances. Maintenance of the patio and garden was also suggested.

There were no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage in a beautiful peaceful location, we had a great holiday there.

The accommodation was as described, but unfortunately, the cleanliness left much to be desired. The water heater wasn't very clean, and the oven was in a deplorable state.A thorough cleaning of the house after winter would be advisable. Outside, weeds were everywhere. The lawn had been mowed, but the semblance of a garden hadn't been maintained in a long time; it bore no resemblance to the photos in the description. The barbecue still contained ashes from last season. With a little upkeep, it could be a lovely, peaceful place.

Lovely cottage if a little remote. Lots of nice dog walks in driving distance. Riverside Park in St Neots and Grafham Water. The Wheatsheaf at Perry serve amazing food.
