Set in Wicken, one of Cambridgeshire’s prettiest villages, this delightful detached bungalow, with its lovely garden and undulating countryside views, is the perfect holiday accommodation in which to relax and unwind. A short stroll (¼ mile) takes you to famous Wicken Fen (National Trust), and cyclists will enjoy the lovely route along the river from Ely to Cambridge (cycle hire available nearby). There are a myriad of attractions in the area, including Anglesey Abbey (National Trust), the market town of Bury St Edmunds with its abbey gardens, Newmarket, famous for its races and music nights, Cambridge with its universities or visit the lovely riverside pubs at Ely where you can watch the world go by. A short drive will take you to the North Norfolk Coast, including the resort of Hunstanton which is perfect for family fun. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Would not stay here again for the following reasons. Sofa and rug a health hazard filthy. Recycling dustbin in kitchen just horrible. Generally not clean throughout. Duvets and pillows in need of washing or replacing. Shower cubicles terribly mouldy as well as wall tiles and fan in bathrooms were furry. Tiled floors throughout sticky. Kitchen equipment in desperate need of replacing. Cooker was greasy and dirty, cobwebs awful over ceiling lights above island and dining table. Horrible plastic table cloth and mats and coasters well past there best. Cupboards full of empty packaging and boxes door rugs and goodness knows what else, extremely untidy. Bath towels ridiculously small and in need of replacement. No hand towel in the cloakroom or utility. Welcome pack consisted of a pint of milk and grapes. The plus side of the property which suited us was three double bedrooms with en-suite, other than that I’m afraid we don’t have anything favourable to say. Whole place in need of deep clean and replacement furniture, fittings and fixtures. Hoover absolutely stunk to the point it made me nauseous.
