Ottoman Villa holds a wonderful hillside position, just a short distance from the popular resort of Yalikavak, where a variety of helpful family-friendly amenities and beaches can be found. While guests will be in easy reaching distance of all the action, they will also enjoy a totally tranquil and private stay off the beaten track.
Unlike other more contemporary villas in the area, Ottoman Villa has a real Mediterranean, Tuscan feel throughout with the emphasis being on indoor-outdoor living, allowing those fortunate enough to enjoy a stay here to make the most of long sunny days and warm nights. The stone built villa can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests across its five beautifully appointed bedrooms, split across the main house (3 bedrooms) and two guest cottages, it would make an excellent choice for two or three families holidaying together. In the main house, the main living accommodation can be found on the ground floor and comprises of open-plan living / dining rooms and a fully-equipped kitchen. Also on this level are two of the bedrooms, both double rooms with carved four poster beds as well as a family shower room. Upstairs on the first floor is the impressive master bedroom which boasts an en-suite bathroom, dressing area and a private terrace. The remaining two bedrooms are situated in two stone built cottages in the grounds, one with a private shower room and the other boasting an open air shower, sauna and ensuite WC.
Outside, the whole family will enjoy lazy days spent in and around the beautiful private pool, reading in the garden or taking tea on the terrace with terracotta tiled roof. After action-packed days spent on the nearby beaches, spend balmy evenings enjoying delicious meals alfresco on the terrace, cooking is made easy by the purpose built outdoor kitchen and barbecue, there's even a bar. The home is set within extensive mature grounds with fabulous fruit trees, shrubs and planting, a completely private oasis.
For winter stays the main house boasts underfloor heating, log fires and an outside firepit.
Less than an hour's drive from Bodrum airport, Ottoman Villa is situated in a tranquil spot, close to Gokcebel village. Less than a 10-minute drive from the centre of popular Yalikavak centre and Marina, which is home to a wide variety of excellent amenities including shops and restaurants. The beaches and coves around Yalikavak and Gundoğan are all easily reachable within a 5-to-15-minute drive from the villa. The larger sandy beaches on the south side of the Peninsula are all within a 25-minute drive. Gumusuluk Bay makes a fantastic choice for lagoon swimming and snorkelling and is just a 20-25 minute drive from Ottoman Villa. It also boasts fabulous fish restaurants along the sea's edge.
Near to Yalikavak is the Kudur Peninsula with spectacular rock caves, offering views of the coastline. The hills outside Yalikavak are also worth exploring with their old stone windmills. Bodrum itself is just a 30 minute drive away and is also well worth a visit, it’s an incredibly vibrant city that combines ancient sites and winding streets with lively markets, including the farmers’ markets, and boutique shops. Whether you’re after an original souvenir, trying the local produce or one of the signature hand-made rugs, you’re sure to find it here! Don’t miss the exquisite marina bursting with restaurants and bars and be sure to have a saunter around the city’s ancient tombs, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The ruins in Halicarnassus, Bodrum Amphitheatre and Bodrum Castle are all simply unmissable while you’re in the area, with epic views and an even more impressive architecture and history.

We stayed in December, and luckily the weather was good, 19’c. The drive from the airport is less than an hour. The house is gated, and there’s a small drive so you park off road. Once there we sat on the terrace and were served a welcomed tea, homemade borek pastry, & freshly picked satsumas. The fire was lit inside which made it especially welcoming. The housekeeper made superb Turkish breakfasts, such a treat. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Gümüşlük by the sea and a few of the group paddled. We ordered a kebab to be delivered one evening. For cooking the kitchen is well equipped and has things like spices, vinegars and oils which is a great help. The house and gardens are stunning, beds very comfortable and lots of books if you lack reading material. If you’re lucky you’ll catch lovely sunsets, although I believe these are more central in summertime.
