  We have just returned from a week at Casa Palmera and had a wonderful time. We were a party of 2 families - 4 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby - and the villa suited us very well. There is a lot of living space so plenty of room for 2 families to be sharing and for it still to feel nice and spacious, and plenty of room for 2 toddlers to be running around and not feel cooped up. The fact the villa is all on one level is so practical with children, eliminating any need to be cautious of stairs or any need for stair gates. The bedrooms are all very well appointed and also spacious. We used the cot and highchair provided, and requested an additional cot for a small fee. The bedrooms fit a cot in well and the cots were extremely comfortable with good mattresses and lovely mini duvets. The children all slept very well! There are three good-sized twin rooms and one double which is huge - certainly the Master Bedroom! This room also has an enormous and beautifully appointed en-suite (with a bath and separate shower) but there are 2 further bathrooms (both with showers) so, again, there is plenty of space in all aspects of the villa. The kitchen is well appointed with large fridge, freezer, electric oven & hob, dishwasher, coffee machine. Dishwasher tablets were provided which was a nice touch. The outside area of the villa is lovely. The pool was heated because we went in March, and it certainly made a difference keeping the cover on to keep the water as warm as possible. The hot tub was a welcome luxury and we got a lot of use out of it. The al fresco dining area is also really lovely to make the most of the glorious weather. Being that we went with toddlers, we were keen to know how the pool is considered "child friendly"... as the pictures show, there isn't any sort of fencing around the pool itself (though the grounds are fenced so children can safely play in the grounds without getting out). There is a soft cover for the swimming pool which is easy to put on, for some safety. We simply had to instigate to the two 2-year olds that they weren't to go near the pool without an adult with them and we had to always make sure there was an adult outside if the toddlers were also outside. The front door has a lockable gate over it and this can be locked whilst the front door is open, making quite a good barrier without having to shut the front door, so we used that strategy quite often too. The villa is a 20-30 minute walk to the centre of Playa Blanca and Playa Flamingo is the nearest beach - it is absolutely gorgeous, a sheltered bay with lovely swimming and there are lots of restaurants and shops around here. We had a day at Aqua Lava waterpark which was lots of fun. Children under 3 go free. We used the Oliver's Travels Concierge service to arrange a transfer for us from the airport - 50 euros each way for a minibus - and we requested some provisions in the fridge on arrival. All this was arranged and sorted without a hitch and it was all most appreciated. We would definitely stay at Casa Palmera again and wouldn't hesitate to book through Oliver's Travels for another holiday.

  The property was larger than expected, with a great living area, well-equipped kitchen and a BBQ that we used every evening. We were happy that the villa was not located in central Playa Blanca, but in a residential area on the outskirts, overlooking a volcano (just 10 minutes walk from the sea). We appreciated the children's books that were already there to use and the high chair and cot that helped during our stay. The Oliver's Travels team were a pleasure to deal with.
