In the lovely La Font area to the north of Pollença, Villa Gema is a welcoming 2-bedroom cottage-style villa on Mallorca’s northeast coast. Within easy reach of local amenities and a short drive from the beach, it offers a relaxing break on the island, with a lovely terrace and L-shaped swimming pool among its attractions.
This traditional holiday home is perfect for a couple or a small family, accommodating up to four guests. The large, well-maintained garden benefits from some scenic views and has a lawn area surrounding the 7m x 4.8m swimming pool. A covered barbecue and dining areas on the terrace give you the makings of some pleasant evenings over dinner and drinks.
The accommodation is all on one level and includes a living and dining room with TV, fireplace and a cosy seating area. Wooden beams above your head and tiled floors beneath your feet give this villa lots of character and charm. This continues into the kitchen where you have all the appliances you may need, including an electric oven, dishwasher and large fridge freezer.
There are two twin bedrooms with neutral décor, which share a bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The property has to air-condition and offers satellite TV and Wi-Fi too.
This villa’s location puts you close to many naturally beautiful places, including the old town of Pollença, the neighbouring port of Puerto de Pollença, and the smaller resort of Cala Sant Vicenc. Lots of beautiful beaches line the coast, and Villa Gema is a little under 6km from the nearest of them. You will also have useful amenities including a restaurant and supermarket within around 2km.
Just down the coast from Pollença, be sure to visit the picturesque town of Alcúdia – as well as offering many historical treasures, its marina gives you a chance to island hop to Menorca, or jump on a boat to explore the Spanish mainland.
Pollença is an attractive town in north east Mallorca, in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains. With beautiful architecture to appreciate, such as the Calvari steps, the town is rich in history. Among its highlights are the ‘Pont Romà’, an ancient Roman bridge, the Mare de Deu dels Angels church with its famous rose window, and the Convent de Sant Domingo.
The neighbouring port, Puerto de Pollença, lies to the north and has one of the area’s best beaches, with numerous bars and restaurants to explore in the vicinity. Puerto de Pollença also offers water-sports, a water park for children, and a golf course can also be found just outside the town.
Also to the north of Pollença is Cala Sant Vicenc, one of Mallorca’s smaller resorts, and home to three beaches: Cala Molins, Cala Barques and Cala Clara. The landscape is dramatic and hilly, with rugged cliffs and rocks, and its popularity with visitors has seen it develop some excellent restaurants, tapas bars and useful amenities.
Further down the coast, Alcúdia has a large marina, serving as a boarding point for boat trips to Menorca and the Spanish mainland. The town is considered one of the most attractive in the area, so don’t miss out on seeing its historic centre, visiting the open-air market or seeing Spain’s smallest Roman amphitheatre.
Many beautiful places can be found in the areas further inland, such as the Natural Park S’Albufera, the largest of its kind in the Balearics. Pollença is easily accessible, with Palma de Mallorca Airport around 60km away.
