Quinta do Vallado was originally built in 1716, one of the oldest and most famous Quintas in the Douro Valley. From 1818 it belonged to the family of Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira but was later sold, though it is still managed by descendants of the family. Since 2005, its doors have been open to guests wanting to stay in the Quinta with five suites being renovated in the main house and later a modern building was constructed with an additional eight suites. Now guests can stay in the idyllic Deluxe River House with its whitewashed, wondrous suites and exquisite views.
