Outside, terraces, garden pathways and several places to sit and unwind connect the different buildings with the private swimming pool at the centre. There’s also a barbecue for long lunches and dinners outdoors.

Casa Comporta puts guests close to the best of the Comporta coast, with Carvalhal’s village life and long Atlantic beaches within easy reach. Praia do Carvalhal and nearby Praia do Pego are among the area’s highlights, with broad sweeps of sand backed by dunes and places to stop for fresh fish and drinks by the sea.
Beyond the beach, the wider Comporta region is shaped by rice fields, pine forests and the Sado Estuary. Days can be spent cycling through the countryside, horse riding, surfing or heading north towards Tróia for boat trips in search of the estuary’s resident dolphins.
Carvalhal itself has become a great spot for leisurely meals and browsing local shops, while Comporta village offers further restaurants and boutiques. For a change of scene, guests can also travel south towards Melides and its lagoon, making Casa Comporta a well-positioned base for discovering this distinctive stretch of Portugal’s Alentejo coast.
