Two twin bedrooms are found on the ground floor, both en-suite and featuring floor-length windows. On the first floor, there are a further three bedrooms. Classically decorated with wooden floors and white, cooling walls, the master bedroom is en-suite featuring a hydromassage shower and your very own balcony.

This can be your treat at the beginning and end of each day. Sit, read, sip a nightcap and enjoy the view. The further two bedrooms are equally welcoming and comprise a queen-size bed with en-suite bathroom and another twin bedroom, also en-suite.

Villa Deolinda features a Garden House with a twin bedroom and en-suite bathroom. If you’re sharing with family, this fantastic annexe to the main house is ideal for grandparents or a younger couple who may want to escape to their own space. Equally, two older children would love the independence of sleeping out here.

The Garden House is framed by greenery. Next, to it, you’ll find your covered dining area. Complete with a work surface, sink, barbecue and view of the pool, this is where you will retreat to during the hot Portuguese afternoons. For those sun-seekers who love to bask in the heat, you’re only a hop, skip and jump from the pool terrace. Pick a sun lounger and lie back.

It’s only from this corner of your delightful outdoor space that you realise just how beautiful Villa Deolinda is. The potted palms, the manicured lawn, the terracotta-tiled terrace, the mature trees surrounding your spacious garden. Fabulous! Relax and let the rest of the day melt away.

The focus of the afternoon will be your fabulous private pool. With attractive roman steps leading you into the irresistible water, it’s all yours for splashing and swimming until the sun goes down.

If you can bear to leave the luxury of Villa Deolinda for a short trip out, you have a choice of fascinating excursions within easy reach. Your nearest beach is just three kilometres away, the beautiful town of Cascais is an equally short drive and Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost point, is twelve kilometres.

Villa Deolinda is heaven on earth for golfers. It’s surrounded by two of the best golf courses in the world; Quinta da Marinha and Oitavos Dunes.

You’re just three kilometres to the beautiful town of Cascais and at its heart, the small yet delightful beach of Praia da Ribeira de Cascais.

Historically the summer retreat of Lisbon’s royalty and nobility, Cascais continues to attract holidaymakers from Portugal and overseas. Praia da Conceicao is another sandy beach on the outskirts of the town.

Guincho beach is renowned for wilder seas and thus a mecca for surfers. But if you want to witness the power of the Atlantic, visit Boca do Inferno. On the other side of the headland and translated literally as Hell’s Mouth, this collapsed cave and rocky cliff feel the full force of the ocean. Winter storms push seawater up through the open cave.

Head to the modern and bustling marina for nautical activity, a waterfront promenade and seafood lunch. Shoppers should explore the old town centre, where traditional houses are now boutiques, pavement cafes and restaurants. Stroll along tree-lined avenues and across romantic plazas for a genuinely continental retail experience.

For a full day’s sightseeing and total immersion in culture, history and the arts, travel the forty minutes to one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities. Families can avoid tired legs and take whistle-stop tours of Lisbon’s incredible monastery, castle, palaces and museums.

Either hop on and off the open top bus tour or board the famous number 28 tram. Find a restaurant or bar on the waterfront at Praco do Comercio for refreshment and people-watching.
