It was dirty and needs a lot of work to get it up to basic standard, it certainly is not luxurious inside or out! I wish I had took notice of pervious reviews but thought people were being picky, believe me they weren't. My list of negatives is endless, including, no WiFi, the finding of chewing gum stuck underneath the top bunk and previous guests socks under the bed and in cupboards but unfortunately the owner is being obstinate and is trying to blame our party for some of the problems. Sykes have contacted the owner on my behalf but are not having much luck. I will take this further as I think when you are paying the prices they are asking then you deserve better!! It's not like in the pictures outside either and the hot tub is dangerous!! Be warned!!

! hot tub was cold ! And also not much hot water to run a bath , thought we’d turned the heating up and it didn’t come on, but at 2 in the morning you could have got a suntan !! Just as well the quilt cover was wafer thin.

Really good location with easy access to York. It had everything we needed for our stay, including toys for the kids to play with. The master bed wasn’t comfortable, we ended up with sore backs and some of the lodge could do with maintenance however it didn’t impact upon our stay.
