Battista House offers a peaceful retreat in the traditional village of Nadur, on Gozo’s eastern tip. This characterful two-storey stone property features four en-suite bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to eight guests, ideal for families or groups of friends. A high-walled terrace provides privacy for the step-entry outdoor pool, while a beautifully vaulted indoor pool, available from the first of October to the end of May, offers a welcome escape in cooler months.

Inside, the house is finished in soft sandstone, with cool tiled floors, warm wood furnishings, and vibrant touches from locally crafted tiles. The open-plan living space includes a lounge with two generous sofas, a flat-screen TV with international channels, and sliding glass doors that open onto the terrace. The dining area seats eight, and the fully equipped galley kitchen includes a fridge-freezer, oven, hob, and coffee machine. One en-suite double bedroom sits on the ground floor alongside a guest WC and laundry room; three further en-suite bedrooms are upstairs, two with balconies.

Outside, guests can dine alfresco beneath parasols, fire up the barbecue, or unwind on sun loungers by the pool. Air conditioning (pay as you use), Wi-Fi, off-street parking, and a concierge service, offering private chefs, childcare, spa treatments and more, ensure a seamless stay.

Battista House is located in the charming village of Nadur, in the eastern corner of Gozo, a small island at the heart of the Maltese Mediterranean. As there is no international airport on Gozo, guests should fly into Malta, travel to the northern port, and take a regular ferry to Mgarr Harbour. From there, it is just a short four-kilometre drive to the villa. Gozo itself is only seven kilometres long and just over thirteen kilometres wide, making every destination easily accessible. Shops and restaurants are just one and a half kilometres away, and the concierge can arrange complimentary grocery delivery and a private chef service if preferred.

Nadur is home to the historic Ta’ Kenuna Tower, built in 1848, and the Baroque church of St Peter and St Paul. From the hilltop, enjoy sweeping views across the island and out to sea. Nearby beaches include the red sands of Ramla Bay, the tranquil San Blas, and the white shores of Iz-Zewwieqa Bay, ideal for coastal excursions. Mgarr Harbour, a traditional fishing village, offers scenic promenades, local dining, and attractions such as the Lourdes Chapel, the Three Graces sculpture, and the renowned Gleneagles Bar.

Further afield, discover snorkelling at Hondoq ir-Rummien, scuba diving in Dwerja Bay, and rock climbing at Mgarr ix-Xini. The island’s rich history is reflected in its Neolithic roots and the influence of past rulers, from the Phoenicians to the British. Visit the unesco-listed Ġgantija Temples, explore the fortified citadel of Ir-Rabat (Victoria), and wander the lively Independence Square. The city offers museums, theatres, and tranquil gardens, while a ferry to nearby Comino promises clear waters, quiet beaches, and fresh seafood by the shore.
